Can y’all cool it please?
Hey, random here.

I just saw your very peaceful discussion, and after what I see I’ ll say that the barrel did not exploded in the proper term, but more broke. It looks like the poor materials here just cutted himself just around the bore evacuation. the change between 2 parts/materials would make it a weaker point.
It does not follow the tbular shape at the breaking point, so I assume the very high pression broke it apart just there.

looks like the same thing happened here in Ukraine. The cause of the barrel cut is maybe something else such a (huge) blast, or thebarrel stuck in the ground while the tank was moving, or idk, but it shows well that the bore evacuation does well produce a weakness in the basic cylinder.
Guys chill this discussion of tank quality has been active for a couple of years, starting insulting or creating heated arguments doesn’t add any value to the thread just relax
This meme is from 2 years ago
Even if what I saying is lie you also can’t denied it, because the fact is there really got 2 China made tank pulled out from the battle due to barrel damage caused by manufacture issues
Unless the chinese are doing something whack with their barrels there won’t be a change in materials, rather the barrel would have a series of holes drilled into it for the bore evacuator to work, which would create a weak spot in the barrel material. It can also create an area for corrosion to build up, further weakening the barrel.
你说的对,但德国制造和美国制造,均在乌克兰被击毁。坦克和坦克炮管本就是消耗品,为什么到中国坦克就炒作中国制造不行?
- You’re right, but both German-made and American-made products were destroyed in Ukraine. Tanks and tank gun barrels are consumables by nature. When it comes to Chinese tanks, why is it said that “Made in China” is not good?
The main problem here those vehicle you said is destroyed by enemy fire or misoperation of the crew, and Thailand VT-4 is due to manufacture problem. Just like the Indian figther that you guys like to make fun with, according to your logic their Tejas also didn’t got any problems since the fighter and the pilot also as consumables, being shot down or crash due to technical failure is just the same thing
I don’t think it’s an issue because it is a Chinese vehicle specifically. Instead it’s an issue because it is so new.
The VT-4 is the latest and presumably most advanced tank in Thai service, but it shows less reliability than older M60s in the current conflict. That is the issue, not being Chinese.
- The leaked manual of the Thai vt4 from War Thunder clearly stated that problems would occur if it was fired continuously for more than 200 rounds without maintenance. However, the Thai soldiers clearly stated that no maintenance was carried out after the war began. This is obviously an operational issue. Why is it said to be a manufacturing problem? As far as I know, the Russian T72/90 series tanks, when used as artillery, have a maximum daily firing rate of approximately 90 rounds, and the barrel will have problems for three consecutive days. The vt4 pictures appeared around the fourth day. It is possible that problems will occur after three consecutive days of high-intensity firing. The specific reasons are currently unknown to everyone. We can only wait for the official investigation results. The vt4 was first delivered to Thailand in 2016, which is approximately ten years ago. No one knows whether its maintenance conditions in Thailand are good or not,Neither the T84 nor the M60 was used at a high intensity by Thailand. The VT4 and M113 were used on the front lines of Thailand
that’s what I was wanting to say, it wasn’t a material change but a change in the material, aka holes drilled in it. my bad
- Thank you for your analysis. What I want to explain here is that China has improved the charging process, making the ammunition have more charges compared to the Soviet Union. As a result, it has a higher chamber pressure. In War Thunder, the charging and chamber pressure of the ammunition are also different from those of the Soviet Union. (A small detail in the game) Therefore, the lifespan of the gun barrel will also decline more quickly
200 round limitation itself already a problem…
Doubt it, there are tons of M48, M60 and Scorpion fighting video but really didn’t see any VT-4 fighting video. What I can assume is just someone in Chinese government, Thailand government and Norinco pack their wallet full in this procurement proess and sell this shitty tank to Thailand

If you have proof of it using it, sure!
Bulldog can never die. It’s so good and bad in all the ways possible!
The next battlefield game should just be T-55, Bulldog, M48 Patton, and armed pick up truck in the year of 2094. Seems realistic enough
Hopefully they slap ERA and cage armour on it so Gaijin can add it. Though can it run or is it a bunker?
