…? There’s nothing I can do about it now, and I hope this armor doesn’t actually become a problem.

Loosing hope for any yamato changes

There isn’t any meaningful difference whether it is 200mm or 165mm since shells don’t lose as much velocity in water as they do in real life. Both thickness will get penetrated quite easily by diving shells.

If it’s not a problem in the game, I can still compromise…
As usual, Gaijin has no intention of reproducing realistic underwater shells in the game, so for better or worse, I doubt it will be a problem in the future.

tbf, complex fluid mechanics for a gamemode that is played by such a small portion of the playerbase that it requires bots to fill matches is just not a good use of their time or money. The amount of detail they put into their ships is already leagues beyond what pretty much any other naval game does, you just arent going to get a fully fledged perfect naval sim when its not even the primary focus of the game, expecting that is a little silly.

The devs deserve a lot of flak for some of the stupid stuff they do, but they also dont get enough credit for much of the good work they do.

I certainly understand that Gaijin has invested considerable resources in the naval game mode. There are mistakes in places, but some of the modeling of the ships is better done than in WoWs, and I understand that they are struggling to get the DMs, which are difficult to set up, into the game somehow.
However, as a user, I would like to see them make one more effort, even if it is just a simple method of reproduction. For example, underwater shells should not travel straight ahead at the angle of incidence, but at a slightly different angle, or the underwater travel distance of Type 91 AP shells should be set separately, or whatever else is feasible.

No, it does decide here, considering the slope and thickness, it can still help against shells. Why do others get normal armor, but Yamato should be an outcast? When many are modeled down to the smallest detail and with all the thicknesses of armor, and here with Yamato they decided to be lazy. Considering that Yamato’s armor is currently not drawn correctly at all…

Even Iowa got decent armor… Why can’t they make it 163mm too? No, well, why not…

There is no need to be careless about such trifles
