Biggest question is if it’s Cost’all or Bluewater, since the ship is referred to as a Light Destroyer & a Kaibōkan. Inadvertently I’d say Cost’all due the Japanese TT having both a Destroyer & Kaibōkan at Rank V (Ayanami class Destroyer, Mikura class Kaibōkan).

Yet I wonder the refit as there’s so many interesting ones it could take, & if the devs ever decide to change their minds & add suicide weaponry there’s the version with the Kaiten.

Also more uniquely the JDS Wakaba Ex Nashi for postwar service as per comments elsewhere with yourself & JPAU.

Coastal would be odd to me, as though they’re a bit slower and lighter armed than preceding destroyers, they’re still very firmly destroyers and not kaiboukans. These changes seem more to do with them being emergency wartime builds, really.

It’s true that some destroyers have ended up in Coastal across various nations, but thus far I believe all have been Cold War designs/modern designs, which are inherently a fair bit different than WWII-and-earlier DDs.

I also really don’t want to see more WWII stuff added to Rank V Japan Coastal until we get at least one WWII ship in Rank IV. :P

JDS Ayanami is also in the coastal so not so weird it would being coastal while being ‘destroyer’
Besides, Matsu at bluewater would be weird as she has nothing better than Momi and Mutsuki but AA.

JDS Ayanami falls under post-WWII / Cold War design doctrine, as I did mention.

Matsu has notably better armament, with three 127mm guns compared to three/four 120mm guns for Momi/Mutsuki, as well as better torpedoes (four Type 93s, vs four/twelve older torps), and better AA as mentioned. She is notably a bit slower (28kt, vs 36/34kt), but is overall better than Momi and at worst a sidegrade to Mutsuki.

She’s also significantly better than the kaiboukans of the Coastal tree, with Shounan having three 120mm guns, no torps at all, and a mere 19kt, while Chidori has just two 120mm guns, two older torps, and the same 28kt. (Though somehow these two are at 3.3/3.7 when Momi/Mutsuki are both 3.3.)

She definitely fits much better as a bridge between the pre-Fubuki (Momi/Mutsuki) and post-Fubuki designs (Ayanami/etc), and would slot in really nicely at 3.7, a BR that’s currently empty in Japan Bluewater.

Caliber doesn’t mean better when it doesn’t have SAP and only HE while 120 mm one has SAP. For torpedo, I don’t think it matters much in 3.X combat situations.

i like your tree set up .

Matsu was in the dev stream, and looks like a bunch of the Reserve coastals are being replaced, including Japan’s.

Edit: The old Reserves aren’t being removed, you’ll just have to unlock all of Rank I to be able to research them. Crisis averted!

Heads up, Yamashiro is currently in a 60% off sale on Xbox right now! We don’t get a lot of pack sales over here, let alone for vehicles I actually want, and it’s 60% too!

Nice to finally have her! :D

Discover this data from old forum.
Gaijin just give Tosa instead of Mutsu-ingame and should give Mutsu (1941) or Mutsu (1943). Then Nagato(1944)

i really hope gaijin just adds it, PG-02 cant really do much against most ships especially if theres no coastals

How come Fuso’s Type 89 guns are grouped with Secondary’s and not AA’s, they seem to be shooting anti air shells that explode right above enemy vessels.
I went to the Bug reporting site and found reports as much as 6 months old, only for them to be shut off without any further explanation, why is that?.

gaijin dont like admitting their mistakes

It is quite funny, because Type 89 was literally made to be AA gun so not making it one in game seems just ridiculous.
But I guess Gaijin knows better.

Seems to be all other Japanese Battleships have their Type 89 Assigned to AA, just not Fuso.
