This J3N seems to me to be just a typo, and it’s J3K.
There are more possibilities to introduce weapon replacement in the J6K, just like we have in the Ki-43.
I hope Gaijin goes over some of the low tier planes Japan has. There where some late war up gunned upgrades that would be very useful. 7.7 mgs don’t cut it sometimes even at low tier so seeing some more ho 103’s would be awesome. Some would get more munitions as well.
You know, as @Rowiek rightly points out, the last non-premium aircraft added for Japan was the Mitsubishi A6M5 Hei over five years ago. It’s time to accept the fact that we won’t be seeing any new low-tier aircraft anytime soon.
I’ve been playing War Thunder for over two years, and the only aircraft added during that time is the Kawasaki Ki-48 event aircraft. One aircraft in two years is a poor result. I understand the need to develop the highest tier, but this must be done with consideration for the development of the lower tier.

Who knows maybe Gaijin will one day go over lower tiers. I was disappointed when we did not get any Thai prop planes in the sub tree. Thailand did use the Spitfire to my knowledge.

Yes, Thailand used Ki-27, Ki-43, H-75 during the war. Just look at the suggestions about Thailand’s aircraft to see that many planes are missing for it.

I wonder, do we think we’re gonna get the Malaysia Su-30MKM or the Indonesian MK2. Gaijin said only some Malays vehicles would be added no? So I feel like they might skip the MKM since the MK2 exists in basically the same spot. But I’ll be sad if they do cause like, the MK2 doesn’t have TVC if I understand correct?

Yeah I get that, vehicles includes aircraft though i assume? Which is why I’m wondering if just one or the other of the two will come. Cause a very near identical plane coming doesn’t seem like something that would actively strengthen a TT.
Personally I assume Indonesia may focus on tanks, with just a few planes (perhaps Rafale and Hawks), while Malaysia is used for focus on Aircraft (Hornet, CA-27, Hawks, Su-30MKM) with a few tanks here an there - bascially as they did with Sweden / Finnland / Norway / Denmark.
Regarding that and in short; the Su-30MK2 would probly be the worst Flanker in-game if it was to come. It only has N00VEP (or just VE) Radar, standard AL-31F engines (yea no TVC), it also lacks Canards and has quite a bit more weight than base Su-27 even.
The Su-30MKM in the meanwhile is bascially the Su-30SM with western electrionics, additional LWS, MAWS, as well as Damocles TGP (same as on Rafale currently) and GBU-12s.
So as of their current plans, it sounds like more Indonesian vehicles are coming first, THEN Malaysian aircraft.
I would like it to be the more enjoyable and unique MKM to come rather than MK2.
In this case, I’d liken it to J-11A and J-11B. Same same but different and one has clearly better avionics, engine, and airframe.

My biggest worry is that we end up seeing the F/A-18D the same update or even after the F/A-18E when we’ve been asking about it since the F-18s were first added to the game. At this point I would much rather them skip straight to the MKM before that becomes woefully outdated as well. I’m less interested in Malaysian ground besides their Scorpions, AV8, and PT-91M.
I hope they will give us the ID Rafale F4 when it comes time for the F4 to come to the game rather than waiting 3 updates. I do have a lot of hope for ID ground though, possibly even more than Thailand if something like the Badak Skyranger is realized. The BMP-3F, BTR-4M, and Komodo would all be really strong. The Harimau could also be the first tank in the JP tree with a hard kill APS if they add it with PULAT. Hopefully ID also buys the IFV version with 40mm super shot too.

My concern is timing. January next year would be when ID’s twin seaters arrive. Would an effective delivery contract for single seaters be enough for Gaijin to add the regular single seater to the game? I kind of doubt that. To wait for ID’s Rafale Cs would be quite long.
I mean, they can just add the B’s that we have seen so far. They will be a bit heavier, but I’d rather have a slightly heavier Rafale than waiting over a year for the C when we will will likely have 5th gens anyways.

I always thought if added the Hornet for Japan would be from some export advertisement sent to Japan but never approved.
Japan getting an two seater F-18 through Malaysia would be kinda funny ngl (F-104 spam all over again)
Though i would imagine (hope) we see aircraft like the A-4PTM, MiG-29N and Su-30MKM as well. Plus whatever indonesia has to offer.

They do have an interesting selection, for example Indonesian specific Hawk variants (Hawk 109/209), modified F-16AM/BM and C/D Block 52ID (Block 25 with Block 52 systems) and Su-30MK2, and they have domestic developments for bombs and rockets too.
Then there is current procurement like the Rafale B/C F.4 or future Kaan/KF-21 as well.
Only for fully domestic aircraft they essentially only have a few for Rank 1, unless Infoglobal actually makes their I-22, which would be an interesting domestic 4.5th gen aircraft if it ever does becomes a thing.

As more and more F/A-18 added, can someone explain why F-4EJ Kai counts as equivalent of F/A-18?

From what I remember back in the day it was explained that the F-4EJ kai had integrated a lot of F/A-18 technology but I don’t see this in game much besides maybe in the radar.
Everything that i know that isn’t F-4E(early) on EJ Kai is F-16 radar, RWR and F-15 central drop fuel tank, everything else (except weaponary) similar to F-4E(early). Early, because it doesn’t have “agile eagle”
