so what you are saying is that the Japanese is lying that they never intended to have the T-2 using AIM-9L?
oh and people already said this but some F-15J did have IRST

I took the above photos at Komatsu during the JASDF’s annual Fighter Meet in June 1982. Please note the British- made CBLS-200 dispenser pod for training use under the fuselage.
I assume these are pylons for AIM-9B’s
This F-86F carried a dust collecting pod under the inboard right pylon under the wing. The similar dust collecting pods are still used with Kawasaki T-4 jet trainer when nuclear tests are done by North Korea. These photos were taken at Iruma in August 1976.
Source for all of this I found List of JSDF aircraft
And what? Photo of T-2 even with any AIM-9 is very rare and mostly missiles was carried on F-1 but fact that they’ve not attached it doesn’t mean it can’t be used especially if manual says it can
Just because it “could” doesn’t mean it did.
Same thing with that there is no mention of GCS-1 bombs in the EJ Kai’s flight manual.
Yet people like Saryn claim it can carry and use them.
Same goes for the JDAMS, he also claims that the EJ Kai can use them yet it cant.
Through its service the T-2 was never seen with a AIM-9L thus it never carried them.
just a prototype / demonstrator nothing more.
F-1 at Misawa Airshow not sure what year sadly (on the site im on doesnt say)
Update: seems 1994/1995 (some photos show 94 and 95)
Do you have EJ Kai flight manual?
Without jokes, I would really love to see it especially full variant to understand how it worked
They are fully a self contained guidance kit, so as long as an aircraft can carry either Mk.82 or JM117 bombs, as well as fit the added size and weight of the guidance kit, it can carry GCS-1.
The F-4s can do this.
Going by size and weight constraints that is a theoretical limit of 15 Mk.82 GCS-1
And going by this setup, up to 5 JM117 GCS-1. I don’t know if more fit the MERs because I couldn’t find any proof.
isnt this still classified?

Hence why I am calling Saryn out on his claims of it being capable of carrying it.
they only fly with inert AAM-3’s for demostrations.
AAM-3 is service armament of the F-4EJ Kai, so you mean AAM-4?
I am talking about AAM-3, the IR guided missile not AAM-4.
Damn really. So it shouldn’t be published here because restricted
But here is still many Japanese sources claiming AAM-3 on F-4EJ Kai so without seeing proofs it is very very hard to believe in it
i love his argument to be honest
it’s like " we don’t know if the F-4EJ seat can eject because we never seen the F-4EJ specifically doing an ejection before even though there’s a manual for it, i won’t believe it unless we got a picture of it"
it’s so good…
I’m not 100% sure but it was retired in 2021 so ig we need some years (not sure how classified stuff becoming unclassified works D:)
