General Japanese & JASDF General Discussion

Ooh, this I would REALLY like to see.

On the F89, the time fuze was set completely automatically by the really stupid automated FCS. This FCS would also prevent the operator from firing unless they were actually in range

I think what they need to do is remake current f-16 in the tree, there are 3 thai f-16 that can be added, the ADF, OCU and eMLU version

Im literally reading from its flight manual, the ranging option is only a fire mode, there is a full manual. And nothing in fuzing does it say anything about the timed fuze slaving to the radar.

The three Japanese phantoms and their revisions.

(AIM-4 on a single rail F-4EJ, I saw one with x3 rail but I forgot where I found that one will update this post when i find ) found it

Could also be the rarer XAAM-2 which basically Japanese copy of the AIM-4

I was gonna say its obviously a XAAM-2, as i wasn’t aware of japan ever having AIM-4s, but… one of those is an AIM-4? wtf? (Only the first image, the second is of XAAM-2s)

You can tell cause the XAAM-2 doesn’t have the forward fin nubs like the AIM-4 does, and its primary fin has a much larger more rounded leading portion, Whereas this tapers much closer to a point like on actual AIM-4s

This is, news to me, and to everyone else.

Saryn you are misleading people into thinking that there is actually a RF-4E Kai and RF-4EJ Kai variants of the phantom.
Stop doing that, they’re just modernised variants.

Just like you are lying about the F-4EJ kai with AAM-4’s and AAM-3’s.
they don’t have them.

I mean, even though its not the official name, RF-4E Kai is still appropriate imo, its electronics and stuff got the upgraded to be the same as the EJ kai.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

Do you mean AAM-4 + AAM-3 or both missiles separate?
Because AAM-3 was in service of F-4EJ Kai

so you are saying it got new RWR, which mean it got modification, which mean it can be Kai because ζ”Ή(Kai) can be upgrade or modified. at this point you just being pedantic here.

It is a new RF-4E yes but it is not up to the equivalent to the amount of modernisation that the F-4EJ to the EJ kai is.
It is just new RWR, not that it gets new radar or weapon systems. it’s just new RWR.
Saryn is inferring here with no sources that it’s essentially a EJ Kai without a gun.

that’s is still a modification, and he does not infer is as an overhaul. but it still is.
i get it that pointing out other mistake and correcting them but you went to hell and back with accusation here.

They never have been fitted on the aircraft.
Try searching it up, anyone can claim that it carried them, there is not a single picture proving it.
only missiles the T-2 carried was a AIM-9B, E and P and a mock-up AAM-1.
