There is images of live AAM-3 mounted to F-4EJ Kai, this is not something that can be questioned. Instead I think since the AAM-3 was adopted two years after the EJ Kai it probably just wasn’t mentioned in the source you saw.

I understand questioning AAM-4 without any images of it and only very few written claims, but AAM-3 isn’t really a question.

About this. Maybe I do mistake but don’t you have access to other non clasified and clear to public manuals of JASDF planes?
Especially something like T-1 and others

This seems to be a live AAM-3 for example

It’s a captive missile with real seeker, the body is blue I just didn’t see it at first. I’ll look for another good image since most are low quality.

If I remember reading up correct, if its a blue body = inert but the seeker is active, whilst if all white = fully active and not inert

(forgot where i read it but i saw somewhere)

Yes it carries it around but can’t use it. It’s not mentioned in the manual and it’s software is not equipped to launch the AAM-3. the F-2 and F-15J(M) can because they were made for that missile.
The EJ Kai couldnt.

Just because there is a picture of a EJ / EJ kai with a JDAM doesn’t mean it can use it.

People like Saryn proclaimed that the EJ Kai could carry them and was used as to test the JDAM kits on their bombs.

SEE what i mean xD

might be difficult to see but I do see the green and red thingy (cross referenced to mauswaffe’s picture)

(unless my eyes are playing up on me again)

Could you say do you have some other declassified manuals maybe for older planes. If you have access to F-4EJ Kai manual, I think it won’t be so hard but will be very useful!
Especially useful to understand could F-104J use AIM-9L for example

F-104J with AIM-9L picture is from a model lol.
it never carried and never could use it because it never had the AERO-3 rail

There was photo of F-104J with it

And back to the original opinion, I say that you are misinterpeting intentionally to have more aircraft that aren’t meant for combat into war thunder with fictional loadouts.
Neither the RF-4E or EJ can be used in combat scenarios.

That is a photo of a model, from a plane kit model. You’re taking his word on it?
of a model plane?

I think the difference is the context. JDAM was mounted for display only, while AAM-3 was actively carried in service.

If the JDAM was mounted in service or at least testing and not just for display, then it would also be reasonable to say that the F-4EJ Kai could use it (or at least the specific one testing it)

I’m not sure, but this looks like a bomb drop training. I think the 150kg anti-submarine bomb used on the P-3C can still be carried by the P-1.

I thought it might be training for torpedoes, but it seems more like a bomb.

Edit: It was a supply umbrella, not a bomb.
