I know this but it doesn’t change that R2Y2 is part of fictional vehicle which wasn’t even planned to be armed with cannons.

Exactly they used a book that was more fiction than truth to design the R2Y2, no design is not right copy paste is more like it…

Still tough at the very least if the devs choose to implement the J7W2 we know where every part should go, behind the pilot is the fuel then engine behind that there is no doubts. Approx top speed would go from 750 to 780 so gameplay wise not much would change?

Nah doubt it, it was recon plane tough some say a jet version was planned but nobody shows me the proofs so I dunno…

Announcing the Removal of the R2Y2 from Research

I have re-examined the historical context of the R2Y2. To clarify, the R2Y2 is not a jet fighter but a high-speed torpedo bomber. While the R2Y2 V2 to V3 variants may need to be removed from the game, there is room to retain the R2Y2 V1 for naval battles by removing its cannons and adding torpedoes. As its slowly taking more shape; I am working with others of our Research Group on a new thread that will cover the 5th F-X Project, X-2 Shinshin and GCAP from the Japanese perspective specifically.

Japan is developing their own advanced Eagle (F-15JSI). Proposals for F-15FX were rejected.

Unknown, though JASSM(-ER) are pretty much confirmed. We will know more once the first one takes flight or more details come up in JMoD notices.
