Gaijin should let us put country specific army/tank decals on anything

Then there should be restrictions on SB and not AB and RB, it’s genuine nonsense

This game isn’t even about NATO or Warsaw Pact it simply doesn’t exist only in player’s mind.

that was my point, you already have the same vehicle fighting itself

It’s a game, you want modern politic in a game, good luck with that, it will never happen.

Exactly

The Warsaw pact has been disbanded, for multiple decades at this point, that’s, not political either, it’s considered Militant Policies and Treaties, as to support fellow members of your organization.

I won’t talk politics, because I’m “on my second strike” for being political. (The 2nd time was in no way even political, I just said something about how a specific country wasn’t a part of another, large country, and some mod from said large country got mad)

They use to be. They removed it a long long time ago. As already said it creates confusion in sim battles.

I suppose the game is so far removed from reality and history it hardly matters who puts what decal on what tank anymore.

So you have an Israel Roundel on a Tiger 2 who cares? You have anime pillows and all sort of junk now.

Well in history you will see something like this but yes decals matters only in Simulator.

Then you kill every F-4s or F-5s, F-104s, MiG-29s, etc even your team has same aircraft in some cases?
Congratulation! You got kicked from the sim matches.

It is almost impossible to distinguish between teammate and foe unless you get up close to them and see their roundels or camouflage.

The only case where that is allowed is in Germany, China because FRG and GDR, PRC and ROC thrown into same matchmakers.

BTW, American Spitfire LF Mk.9 has camoflage that has RAF roundels

My proposed solution is completely abandoning the decal restrictions for game modes where friendly markers are visible (AB and RB), and having a full ban on decals in sim mode where identifying friendlies and enemies is far more difficult. Alternatively the decal ban could be restricted to country insignias and similar.

And you will see that in WW2 fighting the US Army in 1944 in Normandy? Right?

For what it’s worth I actually applaud Gaijin having country specific decals ,it’s probably the last remaining element of any kind of immersion left in this game which is now at a level of COD sillyness now …but the then so are the players it seems.

So your point is what?

The answer where you would see this

You lost me with this in relation to the OPs question.

I like history based detail but sadly Gaijin don’t bother anymore.

My point is if a proud Israeli wants to put the Star of David on every tank he has I wont be offended but he may need to buy the flag for 500GE. I did with the Union flag UK but I only used it for the UK tanks.Realism is my thing not nationalism but that’s just me.

Gaijin had this flags once for free, but somewhere I name no name, started a war and people used the flags of the belligerents and shoot on each other after they saw them, that’s why they removed team kill in ground battles (artillery works, CAS bombing too) and put the flags behind a GE paywall. Gaijin implements something good and players abuse it, who is to blame now?

As far as historicity is concerned, the game has failed its own standard long ago. Matchmaker mixed teams and Cold War tanks against WW2 tanks.
Gaijin is sticking with the simulator because there is still the potential for some historical atmosphere, so they will never release the decals for everyone.
