Gaijin should let us put country specific army/tank decals on anything

I find it strange that ground decals have restrictions on which nation you can place them on. For example, why can’t i put a DDR Army decal on a soviet tank? doesn’t make sense whatsoever considering the DDR used soviet vehicles. (this is my protest please gaijin let us do this)

Simulator battles. if you can put other countries roundels and ensignia on your tank or plane it can screw up friend or foe identification.
Imagine if you could mark up the British Mustang or the german P47 as USAF or the many lend lease tanks as American. You would be teamkilled constantly and have an unfair advantage over opponents.

sim restrictions are nonsense you can play t80u or t90 while not even being on russian side, abolish decal restrictions

I disagree having lend lease and export vehicles available for use in a battle unless they are hard restricted to only fight with the native nation.

Honestly if they made like a specific “simulator” decal thing I would be fine with them getting rid of the restrictions for realistic and arcade

You can put some decals on pretty much everything.
The Russian polish Eagle thing in white is good for add hoc snow camo and the Black Canadian maple leaf will go onto German vehicles to make them look dead.

Still irritated they locked the Ilmavoimat roundel behind Sweden, I used to use it on my leopards since i prefer the finnish camo schemes to german ones, now it’s locked while we still are waiting for more unique vehicles to be added to the subtree, Patria in TT when gaijin :(

I think decals are of a limited use any way and many people on PC use skins to customize vehicles not decals.

I asked when I started why so few tanks even used decals and Stona the forum manager said it was because so many use skins that only the player can see.To anybody else the tank looks plain.

The Star of David is an odd decal because it’s a Jewish symbol as well and I can understand why a Jewish Person may wish to put one on every tank they play.

I can only recommend buying the Israel flag and putting that on every vehicle you own.

invert 1 of the triangles found in the ‘allies’ section of decals then take another one, place it on top and facing the other direction while overlapping

The answer is “Simulator” you can’t use your GDR NVA decal because it would confuse the players.

I really wish war thunder did the DCS thing with userskins where it shows if you have it installed

It’s upon players’ choice whether to take the risk of friendly fire and infiltrate the enemy.
But Air Sim is a problem, maybe it would be better to compulsorily remove all the skins and decal for Air SB?

Or as another player has mentioned above, decal restriction only works in SB.
