I MEAN CMON GAIJIN. there is NO reason what so ever for this thing to be 5.7, especially since its so ahistorically nerfed its not even funny, the Turret traverse should be faster, its suspension should be way smoother and less bouncy, it should have a much quicker reload rate.
What is even the point? its not a Panther equivalent in any way. Let alone a T-34-85 or something with its over performing nuke shells out of a gun that could only fire solid shot because any other round type would BURST IN THE BARREL.
But ohhh LAWD it has a Stabilizer (a garbage short stop one that basically means nothing, and can be countered by legit JUST NOT HITTING THE BRAKES WHEN YOU GO TO STOP AND FIRE) And it must fight things that it can’t even frontally penetrate, let alone fight properly. God forbid that.
It’s so much worse with it’s double the gun depression and a stabilizer as well as APHE ammo. Woe is me the american 5.7 player says. You maybe could have had a point if you stuck to comparing to Panthers but calling this a worse firefly cements you as somebody who does not understand what they are talking about.
The Firefly has better suspension, mobility, turret traverse, Gun performance, the same reload rate, and in most cases better armor performance. Hell Mk8 Shot from the 17pounder makes MORE spall, than the Shermans APHE.
Stablizers mean NOTHING in the grand scheme of things, i out shoot shermans all the time in my firefly, Git Gud.
The Easy 8 is just a worse firefly in every way other than gun depression.
its literally worse in every way than the firefly.
ESPECIALLY the Polish premium Firefly with the Radial, it literally out performs the Easy 8 in EVERY way. The only place a Easy 8 beats it is the Top speed.
Maybe stop using APHE as a crutch for having no skill, and you will do better. I get 20+ kill games in my Fireflys easily, im lucky to get 2-3 kills in the Easy 8, even in a downtier. Because its just BAD.
it also gets smoke grenades, the same reload rate, better pen, better agility, WAY softer and easier to work around suspension that doesn’t throw your gun around all over the place, and actually absorbs bumps and such, and doesn’t just send the tank wobbling around and jerking every time it hits a pebble.
It has slightly better vertical guidance on the .50 cal giving it better chance to shoot at air units. Not a big advantage, but it is there.
I always find it frustrating the firefly .50 cal has only 15 deg vertical guidance. Why pintle-mount it on the turret with such a crappy vertical aim? It’s like they were taking lessons from the Russians on mounting cannons in the turret…
Kinda confused at the hate of this vehicle, its a great 5.7, M62 shot is plenty good enough, not to mention its great stabiliser, on top of the mobility, and turret traverse being above average. Sure its lacking in armour, but so is a lot of 5.7s.
It appears the Firefly’s VVSS suspension is smoother than the E8’s HVSS, which makes no sense at all and is the opposite of reality. Someone should get on this
