I will be making a bug report lets get the fw190 fixed in sim without raising its br, as it it will be to high in br to be effective with the minengeschoss nerf and this rediculas nerf to the engines cooling.
BnZ planes are not fun at all to play in WT air quake with spotting mechanics that put a giant HERE I AM whenever you are 10km from someone. Its not fun spending the first 5 minutes climbing to ensure you have the most energy, and its not fun spending the majority of the match running from players that have more energy than you after your first engamement. It doesnt help that the games are designed to end fast either which makes this playstyle even worse because playing like that either your team evaporates or the other team does and you are in a hopeless situation either way.
Playing russian props made me never want to touch german props ever again. Only place bnz planes are fun is sim battles, because there is no nametags, and matches last longer. If only gajin cared about sim, in the current state its just bots farming rp/sl and people not wanting to touch it because awful rewards because of said bots forcing gaijin to murder the rewars structure.
USSR props benefit from dev bias towards USSR planes. That’s why most of their props (like the US planes) are under-BRd despite their flight performance requires objectively higher BRs.
On top of that: The average USSR player has the same skill level of the average US pilot - that might contribute too. So if the wt meta in props consists mainly of low to medium alt furballs it is logical that under BRd USSR aircraft dominiate those low alt turnfights vs German and US aircraft - whilst they got clapped by JP fighters.
It seems therefore logical that experienced players are able to benefit from rather low BRs of USSR fighters- especially since the massive 20 mm ShVak buff which transformed (together with the ballistic “update”) the weakest 20 mm into a “one-tap” killer with sniper precision.
I agree that on standard maps in full lobbies the role of BnZ fighters (like 190s or P-47s) became useless - it is correct that most matches are decided before they are even at 5 km alt.
But as soon as you play in small 6 vs 6 matches you can make them work - excessive side climbing still pays off - but almost nobody has the patience for that.
Without the FM and engine nerfs i would have bought the JP Fw 190 A-5. Just because somehow i had up to 40% matches on Pacific maps (in constant full uptiers to 4.7 and 6 vs 6 matches) and not a single JP plane is able to catch diving Wyverns or plain P-47s.
So i bought via war bonds the premium UK P-47 at 3.7 - and i am now the untouchable guy. As soon as you are above 5 km you are safe and you can outrun and outclimb them; not even the busted Ki-44s can touch you. And you cabn BnZ like there is no tomorrow. As an additional benefit: You get usually an air spawn (whilst carrier based fighters have a mandatory carrier take-off) and the contrail alt on most Pacific maps is at ~ 6.5 km.
Regarding 190s:
I put them aside and use just the F-8 to fulfill BP bombing tasks in Air RB. The last task (kill 3 players with a bomb of 1.000 kg or more) was done in 4 matches just with climbing to 7 km (and flying a wide loop) and saying “hello” to some guys on their forward airfield. If you turn off your engine - there are no contrails.
But thanks to the engine nerf you have to nurse your plane home - too much WEP or just after 15 minutes your engine is quick at “flashing red” at 83° Celsius (which was previously “white”); not the best situation if some really angry guys are chasing you…
Also maneuverability ceiling is better with full-real controls compared to mouse aim across the board. More risky, but also high reward.
It looks like Squishface might be making an Fw190 video soon - he uploaded some duelios in his dora and I’ve been seeing him in lobbies flying fw190s.
The event grind has made some toxic gameplay and zomber spam at props manifest, but - try playing on CIS/EU during UTC 18-04 window at 3.0-5.7 (I avoid 6.0 unless desperate). I usually find plenty of lobbies with actual players doing fun fights.
If you fly rank 3 props and even most rank 4 ones, rewards are not…fine, but you won’t go broke without a premium account and if you fly rank 3/rank4 props - there’s not a lot of grinding to do so it’s mostly just having SL to expert your planes.
I kindly ask you to rethink your habit of promoting videos from this person.
He excelled in a “special” (some would say toxic) forum behaviour, received temp bans for racist/nazi remarks and got his 1st account finally suspended from the forum (u can check this by yourself).
And i have (as long as the old forum is available) also first-hand witness reports of harassing a player from Brazil - as i was added to the exchanges with Community Managers and Forum Moderators due to fully intentional team killing by him in Air SB.
So every time you post a vid you generate a few cents of advertisement revenue. If the player would be actually interested in helping or supporting wt players he would present himself in another way and would be active in the forum.
I get killed by Skyraiders constantly- the A36 spam equivalent at that BR. Thr F8 is not as fast, can’t turn at all and is generally operating low to the ground. And oh- it’s obscenely spendy to rebuild. So I don’t.
The supercharger was rather basic in the early models, using a single-stage two-speed design directly geared to the engine (unlike the DB 601’s hydraulically clutched version) which led to rather limited altitude performance, in keeping with its intended medium-altitude usage. One key advancement for the 801 was the Kommandogerät (command-device), a mechanical-hydraulic unit that automatically adjusted engine fuel flow, propeller pitch, supercharger setting, mixture and ignition timing in response to a single throttle lever, dramatically simplifying engine control.[1] The Kommandogerät could be considered to be a precursor to the engine control units used for many vehicles’ internal combustion engines of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
It was hard to watch the 190 just “rate” the shit out of the D30… by the third fight, it had already taken on an air of inevitability… just nothing at all the Mustang could do but slightly alter the speed at which it died.
In the Mustang’s grace, it was really out of its element (it likes going downhill with lots of altitude to burn and keeping speed at 500 km/h or so. Here, it couldnt burn any more so rip).
P-51 can win the fight but it has to fly more horizontal lines and spend minimal amount of time near vertical. P-51 wing at low speeds is just kind of doo-doo. At the same time, most people that complain about Fw-190 flight model do not ever take advantage of its full potential.
It’s not particularly great in Air RB but it’s also not exactly as useless as others make it out to seem. It’s just very mid at most BRs.
If you read the forums you’ll see similar threads; there were two fairly recently about it and the Ta-152 that were AI generated and end up referencing even older threads that have bad information.
just wished the FW190As and Fs could turn as well as they did IRL they gave early spits a run for there money especially considering at certain speeds they turned better
