Further additions of the Z-10

Ah, thanks I just woke up so I missed the update note despite it being posted above.

Hopefully the HMD issue is fixed soon.

adding AG-300A/M IR missile as a Z-10ME’s FNF missile

to return the DIRCM, it now works on the Z10ME you no longer fear anything from the IRIS-T

Now only if they would give us some better a2g ordinance

The AG-300 was accepted a while ago
But you have some good points about the game balance and range implications

I hope he will understand that the maximum range of 18km is a locking on a point and not on a small target like a tank, we will be close to 10km of range thought so that the seeker can manage to lock a small target and in movement

I know this issue, part of the source I used is from yours, the focus of mine is the IR version, AG-300A/M, and the range problem, providing a chance of FNF

I know this too, I always use this to argue with people about range problem in planes. But clearly, in gaijin’s mind, the extra point lock range in helis matters a lot, even 10km to 8km is a great jump in their mind.

I’d rather say there’s no reason to play the standard Z-10.
I just skipped it an went straight for the ME and that’s just an upgrade. At 11.7 the higher BR of 12.0 is irrelevant anyway as in my experience you get soaked up to 12.0-12.3 anyways.
The DIRCM pays off as many already tried to get me with Mavericks and Strelas.

I don’t even think the 18km point lock really matters in the grand scheme of things. (in terms of balancing)

Most far heli spawn in the game is already between ~8 to 12km anyways, well within the range that you can swoop in and start locking targets with existing weapons like PARS LR and Spikes, or even fire AKD-10 or Vikhr if you wanted to fire from standoff range.

As long as the spawns don’t change, it won’t matter if the missile can point lock at 500km, you’re still spawning inside lock range with the current spawns, and most SPAA now will outrange you in a heli anyways.

So if the range isnt going to be grossly gamebreaking, there’s little reason to hold off on adding it for the Z-10

I agree, but the problem is gaijin think it matters. idk why but heli missile range is what they believe very important, they don’t really care the other range except this

Most heli users spawn in at 5~6km at the close spawn so their missiles reach faster and its less likely to get shot down so idk why Gaijin thinks a 18km (or 25km) point lock missile will be broken

It’ll take a heli a good chunk of the match to even fly to that distance, and going to reload is going to be a huge waste of time lol. Not to mention the new SPAA can see those missiles travelling towards them on the radar screen.

Whatever the balancing devs are smoking, its some good stuff for sure 😂

Let me introduce you to this wonderful 12.0! SPAA incapable of killing helicopters at >3.5km
So you’re perfectly safe even at the closer helipad spawn!

Ah right, but nothing to fear, since those would be on your team trying scare away enemy jets at 25km by menacingly locking onto them with the radar 🥲

(while they nuke your spawn)

The enemy RWR will show a “?” signal to confuse the enemy. before they reach the lock range

The fire control radar is in K band, some aircraft on this band in their RWR, for a majority of aircraft you lock them without triggering their RWR ( StatShark - See All Player, Missile, and Vehicle Statistics)

Spoiler

but this discussion will be more appropriate in the chats concerning CS/SA5 I imagine

I thought it was a Gepard or Sgt. York at first when I encountered a CS/SA5 because of the ?, and then I wandered too close and was shot down

Speaking of RWR, Z-10ME did get an increase in RWR band detection but somehow can only determine that aircraft radar is still a generic (AI) (air intercept) and all the new AA systems don’t show up specifically as to what they are.

I don’t know about you but I’m somehow really doubtful that an attack helicopter from 2021 can’t even tell what most radar signatures are ingame.

Z10me’s radar signal is not be identify as well

I even believe that not all helicopter radars are identified by the RWR

Seems like Gaijin broke helicopter radar locks, meaning it’ll be some time before we can enjoy the Z-10ME to its fullest…

Spoiler

Currently, the issue is in 3rd person, the helicopter will seldom lock selected targets, but in 1st person it will lock properly. This issue persists for all helis, and bug report has been submitted

Very annoying, this is basically just another dev server at this point

that’s a thing for at least 7 months…
radars on helicopters are kinda useless
