Let’s be real though, long range missiles like Kh-38s for example have +40km stated range but it most people ingame fire it at 10-12km at most anyways (seeker can only lock tank sized target at 10km) and on top of that, all LOAL weapons lack LOAL capability so this is a very poor excuse.
And what about radar guided AKD-10s? They should just make chaff smoke by default for all tanks already so they can stop hiding behind the excuse of oH No nOn-sMoKaBLe mUNiTiOnS tOo OP.
EDIT:
Also CM-502KG only has 11kg warhead that’s HE or SAPHE, that’s basically nothing in the grand scheme of things. With the introduction of more powerful AA systems helis without F&F are going to be useless.
It’s a bogus excuse anyway, you’re more likely to accidentally avoid them by moving around between map objects, especially buildings or moving past tank wrecks, than consciously smoke against a Spike/PARS
The last time I smoked against a F+F missile, I was playing on Sands of Sinai; I got hit by 3 of them from an AH-129 before I realised what was going on (they didn’t do any damage), smoked, then died a few seconds after to a Vikhr that ignored it.
Yeah, most players don’t even smoke against F&F missiles in a timely manner BECAUSE they don’t know a missile is coming their way anyways.
Even IF you deploy smoke after the first missile hits, they take a good 3-5+ seconds after deploying before they can start redirecting missiles, by which time a second missile is already on its way to finish you off.
I have NEVER seen a player actively smoke missiles defensively successfully, most of the time it’s because they deploy smoke for other reason like being shot by someone else, which coincidently happens to defend against my missile in the air.
Does TY-90B or TY90 block 2 exist by any chance? so that they can lock and launch at 10 km and maneuver 40G. Or SARH/ARH TY-90, for lounch in enemy’s helicopter
