I have this genuine curse where i lock onto an enemy then my missile decides it wants to shoot down the f15 on my left instead? is there any way i can avoid this cause i keep accidentally friendly firing

Dont fire at the enemy thats within 2km of friendly and if you do make sure you can abort (such as unlocking hardlock when guiding in SARH) if the missile goes for friendly.

I mean it can happen no matter what you do game is unpredictable as that but you can minimize the chance of it happening

Don’t shoot at enemies near friendlies.
Basic trigger discipline.

This is a basic skill that many people seem to struggle with even at top tier

This! The best way to avoid tk. Even though… Few days ago on Spain, I was flanking, I had a duel with an enemy plane at altitude, but for reason my missile went straight down to a friendly at ground level. Oh, and I was at altitude, above 5km

Keep in mind the seeker FoV, AIM-9Ls have a very wide FoV which makes it very easy for them to switch targets

I can’t. Believe. That. 2 bombers or in war thunder. B52 tu95

Dont shoot near friendlies, IR seekers dont discriminate if another juicy IR signature enters its field of view. Especially if theyre crisscrossing in front of you and flaring it can throw off the missile into whatever is nearby and chase it down if it still has the energy/battery life to do so. (usually 2-3km bubble around your target could be considered… danger zone.) Radars can also switch targets very easily.

You can stop playing Inferior sub optimal western aircraft and play Glorious aircraft made in homeland
