French S.O. 4050 Vautour IIB should not have BR 9.0

S.O. 4050 Vautour IIB in the French tech tree is a sub-sonic bomber, with no capacity to carry guns, rockets, missiles, or any counter-measures.

Since its only armament is bombs, it is almost only capable of destroying bombs. However, it cannot arrive at bases before enemy fighters, and it has no way to protect itself against enemy fighters with similar or even lower BR. It cannot outrun, outclimb, or dogfight anyone. Its maneuverability doesn’t even allow it to escape from AIM-9B, not to mention AIM-9D or AIM-9E common around 9.0.

We may compare it to Yak-28B in the Soviet tech tree with the same battle rating:
Yak-28B is a supersonic jet, capable of accelerating and climbing faster. Besides bombs, the Yak-28B has a cannon (though it is not very useful due to low maneuverability). When bombing bases, Yak-28B can reach bases before enemy fighters, and can outclimb and then outrun every fighter in 9.0. It also has countermeasures and an acceptable roll rate to protect itself in the worst situation.

S.O. 4050 IIB’s performance is much more similar to B-57 in the USA tech tree, which has a 8.3 battle rating. B-57 is slightly slower, but sufficient to arrive at the base before most enemy fighters around its BR. It has 4 cannons, allowing it to attack AI ground targets. It also has acceptable maneuverability, at least able to escape from AIM-9B when speed is suitable.

The yak 28B isn’t a viable aircraft. The 3000kg can’t kill a base anymore and while it can get the bomb away before enemy aircraft arrive, that doesn’t matter much when it nearly never gets a chance to bomb that base again. ‘an ally can bomb it also’ isn’t realistic as many games have few bombers and most want to kill an entire base on their own. But honestly, the biggest problem is that if you want to break mach 1, you risk wing rips. It has some of the weakest wings of any aircraft in the game and shreds its own wings constantly. It can actually wing rip in level flight. Any small dive or maneuver can also wing rip very easily.

Now i’d argue both the 9.0 vautours should be dropped a br, but i’d say the yak-28 does too (or get actual wings). Its much better than the B-57 in every flight characteristic and i don’t think thats a good comparison.

Gaijin removed the balance when they removed airspawn. idk How can any conscious human decide to remove bomber airspawn by tiers
