Mainly referring to the Mac 1934, they’re atrocious in terms of damage output. The tracer belts do literally nothing, and even when using the best belts, other nation’s 30 cals far outgun them. In my opinion they need a significant buff, as so many planes up to 3.0 rely on them.
That’s why you shouldn’t use Tracers.
Use Stealth. For .30cal MGs you want to use AP or API.
Tracer belt is kind of painful as it lacks penetration.
If you hit fuel tanks, it can be fun, but most often it’s a death by 1000 cuts.
Meanwhile AP will simply mess up the engine/pilot or just rip a wing off.
Hence I use stealth. Takes some getting used to, but it’s not that difficult.
This isn’t an arcade game. You can’t just buff whatever you want for the sake of buffing it. There has to be some realistic reason.*

That said, the french planes that use the 7.5s always have something going for them that makes up for the lack of firepower.
This is why I’ve stopped playing vehicles with them entirely. Need to play low tier? D.371 H.S.9, higher tier? Theres an American for that!
