For a 20mm difference in case length that’s a pretty big difference.
Also what are the shells made of?
Tungsten id imagine, Rarden was a uniquely good 30mm for its time.
So funnily enough the 30mm the BTR-80A uses is the 2a72, not the 2a42,
2a72 dimensions: 30mmx165mm
Rarden: 30mmx170mm

According to this data (photo) with APDS (rarden) and AP (2a72) the pen difference is only 9mm, although this data is for far vaster ranges than would be operated in game. Which would mean the AP of the 2a72 should be preforming far better up close, more like 98mm for the AP.
(Idk what BP AP is for the 2a72)
3UBR8 is the APDS, 3UBR11 is the APDS-FS
i cant speak to how 3UBR8 or 3UBR11 should perform because its not really known because 3UBR8 has seen barely any service, even in certain conflicts more recent to the mind, and 3UBR11 is to my knowledge only exists in prototypes.
Im unsure how 3UBR6 and the 30mm APDS from Rarden would even be matching in pen considering 3UBR6 starts at around 60mm ingame and i believe that to be a pretty accurate figure.
At what range though? According to the figure, that was taken at 1200meters.
What is the pen of both AP rounds on both? Because it shouldn’t have anything higher than a 14mm~16mm pen difference if the shell case length is really only 5mm difference.

Rarden didnt have AP, it had SAP,HEI,APDS and commonly used APDS for anything anti armour related.
OK so every UK tank that can penetrate and is faster than 30 km/h must be nerfed plus no fun allowed for UK ground tree players.🤪

Cartridge Size doesn’t matter, Penetrator length/mass/composition and M/V are what matters and even in the table you posted the RARDEN projectile starts off 200m/s faster than 2A46 ammunition

Yea the 20mm on the Wisel is certainly lacking if you have to deal with something that has a lot of armour no doubt about it.
Personally I like to use it to scout for squad mates or do silly things like run up beside a tank, shoot said tank and blow it and myself up :D
Could the Fox go up in BR…Yes it certainly could if the snail wants it too. Tbh I have used it in my 8.3 line up and its done ok.
Personally I would like the Fox to remain competitive moving it up to a higher BR might have downsides that render it un-viable and if the British tree needs anything its viable/meta tanks ect.

That’s cool. Btr-80 uses a 2a72, also, yes cartridge length does matter. It’s almost like you can fit more propellant in it or something.

M/V? Momentous viewing? Is that what M/V is? Because case length is really important.
Think of a .300 Win mag vs a .308 what’s different? Case length. One can travel far further and inflict far more harm to an animal than another.
And that gets handicapped by virtue that everyone in its game with APHE can one shot it, but you can rarely one shot people in return )))
