So you want to punish any aircraft that gets uptiered with this right?
11.0 into 12.0 is gonna be almost useless
12.7 into 13.7 why should you even spawn? How are you ever gonna engage 4 enemy f15 at range
I also don’t like when my radar missiles slams the ground instead of the aircraft but its a necessary evil so this game doesn’t turn into an equipmant dictated mess more than it already is
Should a Tornado F3 at 12.0 be totally and compeltely defenceless vs an F-5E at 11.0 because hes flying below a certain altitude and will easily beat you in a gun fight?
Should an aircraft with ONLY fox-3 missiles like the Sea Harrier FA2 even be at 13.0 if 100% of its weapon payload doesnt even work. If its only using Aim-9M and canon, why is it higher than the Harrier Gr7 and not at 12.0
Just as much as dogfighters hate Fox-3s and love being immune to them. BVR trucks that are dependent on their SARH or ARH missiles actually hitting the target otherwise htey are dead want MP reduced. Its an ahistorical feature that serves no purpose than to make the game easy
The f5E that is slower than you with limited countermeasure, no radar missiles and no all aspects? Im sorry but if you can’t deal with him thats on you.
Dont act like everybody is hugging the ground all the time. The dents in the map are enough to have even skyflash df hit enemies consistently. Surely the sea harrier isnt the best but acting like it should be any lower because mp exists is also crazy. It would destroy the last dominion of non FOX 3 dominated territory ingame.
yes you trade being immune to fox 3 to constantly looking ahead and guessing when you have to flare the incoming off axis pl5e II that wont be affected by multipath even a tiny bit.
Ir Missiles exist exactly for this reason, catch someone offguard and they die. You can even saturate them with IRccm missiles from 3 players.
If you want this so bad why don’t you do the Mig 29 challenge in your Tornado as you dont have a mig29 yourself. 13.7 games only.
4 Aim9l, 2 Supertemp, 60 countermeasures.
You count all the airkills you get and all the deaths.
If a missile misses you by multipath, you don’t get to count any other kills that game.
If you run out of your 60 countermeasures and have to use more to dodge a missile you also don’t get to count all kills after this.
Or do the same counting method while flying an f5.
i don’t think you realize how truly awful a complete removal of MP would be for so many planes that rely on not dying to every PD guided missile sent their way within a certain range.
R-Alt is fine, many aircraft do actually have that, was already in game for years in a lot of cockpit HUDs like on the Jaguar Gr1. About time it was added to the third-person HUD. But… They do need to fix it to display the correct unit of measurement (edit, being fixed next major)
11.0 MM sucks, but radar missiles aren’t the worst stuff you can face at and around that BR. Even in the squadron F-5E I have had multiple 3 kill games when stock.
However in the Mig021bis, most of my deaths are from radar missiles since I have no clue when one is fired (or if the lock is from a friendly kfir being dumb, or a phantom that’s 10km away). With the F-104G and F-5E I die to them much elss due to the not awful rwr.
Gaijin needs to decompress way more in order for it to be fully removed.
i dont think you know how multipathing works in war thunder, the limit is 60m, but thats only when a missile targeting you from head on, same altitude. therefore when the missile sees that the radar target is in the ground, it goes for the ground. However, most of the time that you are being killed when you are under the multipath height, it is because the missile is coming at you from ABOVE, meaning the higher angle it comes at you from above, the less effective multpathing is going to be. This is because when coming from above, the missile has to go through your plane to reach the radar point wher it thinks your plane is. Therefore, if you get hit by a missile coming at you from an angle of elevation of 80 degrees, it doesnt matter how close you are to the ground, 99 out of 100 times, ur just dead
you know i wanna thank you for that explanation lol. It’s been a hypothesis of mine since the start of fox-3s but have never been able to explain why i sometimes got killed even when I’m 10M above the ground.
I would add to this that you can defeat ARHs with good positioning, even without chaff. I was initially going to say “As long as you’ve a decent RWR”, but I was successfully doing this with the Viggen with AMRAAMs on the dev server, so good RWR is nice but not strictly needed. With this in mind, I would say multipath isn’t really necessary, and removing it doesn’t stop ARHs from easily being defeated, but it does allow BVR buses to at least force defensive action from the target instead of the target just ignoring the missile and taking you into a dogfight to kick your teeth in.
Once you add chaff into the mix, not really sure we should keep multipathing even when regarding the “making it easier” aspect.
