What more can I say, it’s all in the title…
The Fox 25 was a proposed AFV based on the FV721, fitted with a Sharpshooter 25 turret, and built by FNSS Defence Systems Inc. Whilst few prototypes of this vehicle were produced, I believe it should be added to War Thunder. The Fox 25 would offer a stabilised 25mm M242 Fox, sacrificing survivability with a crew of just two but greatly increasing the fire rate of the vehicle whilst also losing penetrative power. It is believed this version was produced to further develop the Fox’s ability to engage low flying aircraft and Helicopters, which this weapon system is more than capable of doing when compared to the RARDEN 30mm L21A1. However, this new weapon system had limited ammunition given the increased fire rate of 200 rounds per minute for just 250 rounds of carried ammunition. Unfortunately, the prototype received little to no attraction and never developed any further.
This new turret weighed 1409kg and was a one man turret, removing a dedicated gunner and instead making the commander operate the weapon system. The Fox 25 had an opto-electronic limited M36 E3 periscopic sight with an integral imaging intensification device fitted, which offers night vision capabilities but no thermal imagining (a thermal imagining system was present if the customer requested it, as well as a laser range finder, but neither were fitted to the prototype). The turrets main & coaxial weapon systems were stabilised, these were a 25mm M242 dual-feed cannon and a 7.62mm M240 machine gun with a maximum depression angle of 8° and elevation of 49°. The Fox 25 can be seen in the background of the magazine SOLDIER which also showcases the Fox MILAN (suggested by nathanclawfish), another varient includes the Fox AA (also suggested by nathanclawfish).
