I agree with OP. Even though the Su-33 is a great plane, it is completely outclassed by ARH slingers it constantly gets uptiered against. Most of my matches in the Su-33 is at 13.7 and I’m lucky if I manage to get a kill with the wall of ARH missiles coming my way. Even one on one they have every advantage because the Su-33 has to break lock to notch where the ARH carrier can launch and turn with the missile still being lethal. Downtiers aren’t much better because there are a lot of 13.0 ARH carriers like the Kfir, Phantom, etc.

Now try using the 3rd gen fighters against 4th gens that not only have better flight performance but also all-aspect IRCCM missiles (often vs rear-aspect missiles) as well as at least as good but often better SARH missiles

most R-27ER slingers are perfectly fine in fox-3 environments

other Fox-1 slingers do struggle though

i gues you havent played the su-27 and 33 because, yes they have good amount of 27ER. but you need to relise that they are not things like the su-30! on su-30 its good to have like two 27ER becasu of there good radar but these planes do not have that. and i know that 27ER is mush faster and has better pull the 120s but they can lauch it at you from 50+km and you can be happy to score a kill at 25+km. because they can notch while there fox-3 is still very dangerus to me. but when i notch in a jet that has fox-1 only. pose no threat to that plane. i gues you never realy experienced it because you baughet the top jets and never played gen3 jets at all. and dont even tell me to notch theres because not everyone is DEFYN.

This post really reminds me of the time i grinded F-15A and it used to fight Rafale and Eurofighter when top tier used to be 14.0 instead of 14.7. That was some painful grind.

It’s really not that bad for R-27ER carriers usually (other Fox-1 carriers do struggle more, but usually have some other qualities to help them out), if I had stockgrinded the Su-33 now with my current skill my performance would be significantly better on statshark.

DEFYN isn’t a top tier air player.

dying to a 50km missile launch is sad, that should only happen regularly if you’re playing while blindfolded, hands cut off and eardrums burst.

Also, datalinked Fox-1s can be relocked any time you want, unlike a Fox-3 where they’re not a threat once notched.
This lets you also launch them from far away, let them fly on IOG and then relock before impact to give them late warning.

u spelled multiple thing wrongs.

do u know how to notch? the jets u face in the Su-33 don’t carry exageratly OP missiles like the R-77-1 or the MICA-EM (except Mirage 2000-5F), so it isn’t too hard to play against them.
btw TWS isn’t a must, u can still do good without it.

wow i didn’t know 12.0 had Fox-3, maybe i should test them so i can bully 11.0 aircrafts! (sarcasm asf).

most planes u face don’t even have the amount of Fox-3s to compensate ur 8 R-27ER, and u can try to use ur missiles to take down enemy’s missile first, after all the R-27ER is the best SARH missile ingame, basically a hypersonic one.

it is, nobody said it wasn’t nor think it’s fair, they’re usually really OP by the fact of the FnF capability, and don’t make me talk about radars and RWRs, most of them have way better ones than the 13.0 ones.


it’s well known that Fox-3 carriers facing Fox-1 carriers is unfair, but Gaijin will probably wait till they make a lot more money with the premium Fox-3 slingers and then fix everything just to add more premiums with even better missiles at 0.3 BR higher to start farming that dollars for the longest period capable.

Also everything becomes secondary to missile count. Why even try to outmanuever the enemy when you can just run then down knowing no matter what they do they cant touch you?
