What’s wrong with the old forum? Why delete everything that was posted before? I hate the new layout, seems more like a social media app than a functional forum

I feel that perhaps given the current condition of things within the community, perhaps it would have been better to change the forum at a date maybe a month from now with warning prior… at least thats what i would have done…
Changing it is one thing, but starting a fresh slate without the past topics, etc. Idk… maybe they will process them over to this but I doubt it.
I do not like not being able to go back and edit, that is for sure. Thats my opinion about it at least.

It is more a matter of new software and probably unable to import old data.
Oh God, this is so awful. The old forum looked nice, this is one of the worse downgrades I’ve seen.

This is so confusing to use.
I can’t believe this.
It looks like that gaijin never heard of “Change Management” and the essential need of involving affected parties within the change process in order to convince all of the advantages of upcoming changes - so before they happen - and not afterwards.
So far i was unable to identify any advantage for me.
If we assume a forum is there to help and support other players and offering a platform for discussions, debates or plain exchanges it makes no sense to start from scratch with a new forum without existing content of the “old world” as nobody wants to repeat himself in infinite loops.
Seeing this forum as a direct feedback channel i am just very disappointed.
I read over the years hundreds of high quality posts with outstanding analysis of the game, extremely helpful guides, extraordinary well researched suggestions and had fruitful discussions with really passionate players.
Basically this is all history now - another way to discourage players with passion to provide honest feedback in order to improve the game - and to suppress opinions not in-line with the official view on things.

Bad change. This looks so much worse than the old one.
There is the old forums currently, but its treated more like an archive now, and I am curious if it will be removed completely after a given oeriod of time.

Now I have to Copy&Paste hundreds of Vehicle Exclusivity and 3 German Tanks posts to protect the great cause. This change is obviously a big conspiracy to silence the Great Cause of Vehicle Ubiquity.

The problem with archives are always the same - high efforts to transfer high value content from one forum to another.
Keeping the old forum “alive” with “read- only” is not really helpful - just a massive inconvenience…
I get it, a new modern look isn’t bad by itself but jesus christ gaijin

I truly hope not that fast, or at least some archive is created.
There have been some submissions/suggestions that were very well put together and even took years to do so… through multiple people collaborating even. This would be a massive loss to throw all this meaningful data out the window.
