I do not have any direct issues with mainland chinese people. Its just that your and everyone elses world view is soo utterly different that a game like War Thunder with modern vehicles and their political associations can not be put into the game without causing excessive drama.
As the the whole thing errupted with this post:

I personally and a couple of other people went on the chinese side of the forum to see what they have to say. Why? Simply because echo chambers are bad and having knowledge of both sides helps in finding the best solution. After a little bit of chatting the whole thing quickly turned hostile since agreeing with any “But” comments from my side seemed to be an impossibility. To be quite frank translation errors, etc probably didn’t help either.
I left this whole thing with the impression that most have:
- Everyone is very quick at throwing around insults (politically/racially motivated) making a discussion useless. I mean just looking at your own comments is enough evidence…
- The PRC denies/bans a lot of stuff that is commonly accepted in the rest of the world. Even my own history got disputed and corrected by the Chinese.
- The chinese playerbase had a lot of negative history beforehand with other players (unmoderated nicknames with utterly disgusting meaning, plenty of cheating from the chinese side (stuff that happens in other games doesn’t help this))
- The general bias (china mains opinions, not vehicles themselves) and victim playing when it comes to the state of the chinese tec tree and denial when it comes to other tec trees that are objectively in a way worse situation.
Et cetera. I really don’t need to list everything since its been written down at least 50 times already.
The only way forward to appease both sides is to bring back your own servers. You can have all the PRC accepted symbology and lore that you like and want to have in your version of the game.
And the rest of the world can have a game that is balanced, with nations represented in a way that doesn’t exclude their flags and the vehicles they operate.

I dont know whats political about this? Its literally what the old chinese servers was like and how game developement in China works.

Just look up what the chinese servers was like. From golden skins for only chinese tanks to different flags for nations. Its not a meme, its reality
As stated above that was stereotyping, and you should doublecheck whether it falls under “political discourse” category. I’m trying to be civil here despite my mind raging like a bull.
You can happily prove me otherwise. I gave my civil explanation of how the entire situation on the forum looks like to me (including videos and major media pieces from your social media networks like the 83 problem list or whatever). If its stereotyping i am sorry but yeah…
Because we are educated with “century of humiliation” in our history class… and suggesting that we be sent back and regionally locked doesn’t really help. More stringent enforcement against racially-incited slurs, stereotyping statements and “memes” should be required to make the forum (and text-chat during a match) a better place.
I’ve seen too many people trying to text antisemitic, anti-black and sinophobic statements either here or during a match. Time to put all these shit to stop. “Yorkshires” too.
Then why not start with your side of the forum? Every time I translate sth it has “the whites” or sth like that in it. I mean have some common decency?
Well you did say that we cheat, but so do some of y’all as well. Claiming that we have a “cheating culture” either here or on Reddit really doesn’t help your case. Cheating anywhere should be treated as isolated incidents, and racial profiling should be denounced.

it’s more like entering a wrong place in a wrong time, when a place full of anger troll.
but same for the another side, Chinese people also feel same thing for western people’s behavior you may fell normal.
it’s the culture difference, and lead to attack to each other.
and also, when situations like this, always more trolls, welcome to just a tiny slice of the world’s biggest and freest internet (also most impolite sometime) society. you may see similar things in Reddit and Discord.
you can even say this is the new era of internet when it’s accessible to everyone, polite is something from the old “forum age”.

can’t agree more with you. Plenty of non chinese people who cheat or bot in war thunder (AVR comes to mind very quickly).
Nevertheless there are many articles and videos talking about the “cheating culture” in China. Now whenever you see somebody with chinese Characters in their names that is clearly cheating or botting, one is very quick with words.
