CAS is meant to be strong. You either have it as an advantage over ground units or not at all.
There are people who would agree and say they want no CAS in GRB.
I think we can balance CAS without such drastic measures.

I make suggestions on how to better balance the game. At the moment CAS dominates top tier and makes staying to the end of a match rather pointless as you become fodder. I don’t like that that’s the current reality so when I think of an idea on how to fix that I make a thread.
You might be better to make it clear that you mean top tier.
CAS is unbalanced at low tier as well, I don’t play it so I don’t care about it as much.
I don’t play top tier, so I don’t care to be honest. I do appreciate it is bad but then modern warfare would be between two major powers. That is the issue War Thunder has. Helicopters and A10s are anti-tank machines made to decimate tanks. Hardly surprising when they do.
SPAA systems in War Thunder are not representative of their IRL counterparts.
Planes in general are not able to withstand 12G pulls like they do in WT, pilots would black out. War Thunder’s flying is arcadey.
How do you know what G planes in War Thunder are pulling and how is the relevant to CAS in GRB where it’s mostly low level and helicopters?
I am talking about going all out to recreate realistic models then players complaining when those models behave as they would bringing about the devastation they actually would for real. Bear in mind how WT likes to mix, and match eras and it is hardly surprising it’s a mess. I think WT needs less realism if it is to sort the chaos it has slipped into.
I think Gaijin live for the day and never look into the long-term effects their creations will cause. Maybe they do need to start admitting some things were a mistake and start removing them from the game or make the game more fantasy to make it all work.
The game as a whole is a very bizarre blend of the ultra-realistic and the downright stupid and ridiculous. I’m not sure that is entirely by design.
The game possibly needs a major overhaul and complete rework. I think it is looking tired and those who previously came to its defence are getting tired of it as well. I am struggling as my favorite era is pushed further up in BR to meet the era I have little interest in.
It seems your favourite era has to to make do with WW2 maps. It’s a mess all over if you think about it.

I agree, I think there are fan favorite small maps that are fun to play but larger maps need to be carefully constructed and implemented in a different way than it currently is. Big maps should offer caps that are closer to spawn and being able to spawn in those caps after they have been captured, similar to how helipads work. This should keep the flow of the battle going and fix the problem of driving for too long without action.
And it would also fix spawn camping since if the enemy captures that point then you have a spawn further down that you can counter attack from.

He isn’t, spawn in a capable plane (granted you’re capable to begin with) and kill CAS. Simple as.

SPAA > CAS
Should we make that?
This is the question that the developers need to examine. If their conclusion is that CAS > SPAA in all scenarios then the game needs to be balanced around Fighters > CAS .
Allow first spawning of fighters to intercept CAS and be preventative.
If you are unwilling to accept this then your only argument is for SPAA to be > than CAS. Otherwise you’re being disingenuous.

Tank Only
The only way we’re ever seeing tank only is if Gaijin compromises and adds it in place of Ground Arcade Battles. I’ve been advocating for this since I first heard the suggestion.
I do not agree that Ground Realistic Battles should be Tank Only or that there should be a Ground Realistic Battles game mode that is tank only while retaining the original game mode.
Mixed battles are more dynamic and entertaining. They can be balanced, currently they aren’t. This is due to numerous factors most of which are directly Gaiijin’s fault and is up to them to fix them.
