And so Ive only flown it on test flights, in a lot of different scenarios. It has two things going for it I dont care for, the climb rate and a 31 sec turn time.
I always kind of look at the climb rate, because that tells me something about its thrust, and acceleration.
Thats why Im asking mates, how does it REALLY do in battle?
Seems to me you would always be fighting for speed and altiude, although I know it gets an airspawn.
Its a little disappointing to me, because I was expecting a very maneuverable plane…
But there you are, I havent flown it.
Haven’t tried it myself but I remember seeing a little footage of it, and I have played other very low rating early jets so I’ll share some thoughts. Don’t trust the stat card.
I assume it’s pretty decent. A decent selling point is it gets an attacker airspawn. The strength of the early jets is max speed mostly and possibly high speed acceleration. You have want to be near max speed and as long as you make sure you aren’t too close to a propellor plane with a massive altitude advantage you will never die. You have to climb opposite to a propellor plane by being level and only slightly climb when close to your max speed. Even doing this the early jets don’t climb too great and you can’t do much vs people at very high altitude.
I know it’s a trainer jet and those tend to have a very good roll rate making it easy to avoid shots or line up your own. I remember it having a “modern” gun which probably is quite good if you are careful with the ammo count.
Overall if you think it’s worth the money it’s probably a quite fun and slower paced alternative to an expensive high rank plane. Outrunning propellor planes is easy and fun, but you must do this a lot to survive. It might do quite poor vs the infamous su-11 which is also on sale right now. However I think at 6.7 it probably gets good matchmaking, frequently fighting the popular final variant of the p51 at 6.3.
