Flight Stick Setup Guide:

That post is kind of to my point of gaijin neglecting flight stick controls in the form of an update.

Very good, I’m glad for this discussion.
I play with the exact joystick that doesn’t have a good rating - Logitech Extreme 3D Pro…
I bought it because it was cheap, another thing is that I primarily play ARB, where a mouse and keyboard are more convenient and I also had no idea how much fun I would have with a joystick…
I don’t have a comparison with other joysticks (I only had one on loan and it was the Genius MaxFighter F16U, an analog that is really prehistoric…)

Sometimes I turned off the LGT 3D, then came back to it, then turned it off again and now I’ve been playing with it for quite a while… but the fact is that I’m still looking for the optimal settings…
I would probably evaluate it as being quite decent for attack aircraft and fighter-bombers, better movement for bombers than a mouse, the greatest difficulty for fighters…
Because I only use the 3rd person view for the view and switch to the cockpit view when attacking, you have to play completely differently than from the 3rd person view, don’t have cramps in hand controlling the joystick and it is definitely not for dogfights in a hellish ball of players, in a small space.
Rather, use the characteristics of the aircraft and find the right moment to attack

It reminds me quite a bit of riding a motorcycle … you have to think ahead and look where you want to go (fly), not where the sight and nose of the aircraft lead you…

It is an experience of air combat, but it takes perseverance and learning…
