I’ve had J37DI for about two months now and it has gotten to the point where games are merely impossible to play as I’m getting destroyed by more modern aircraft like the Su-33 and J11b which all have a respective age difference between the viggen of around 20+ years and I just need to know what qualifies the J37DI to be 13.0 apart from the AMRAAMs because I genuinenly don’t understand anymore as the RWR sucks, the radar is not all that great and the air frame is just awful for its BR.
It’s stuck. A weak subsonic like the FA2 might be able to manage 12.7, but supersonics really can’t go lower.
What is needed is decompression
Its SARH only carrier
Sits at higher BR; problem of uptiers isnt unique to the J37DI
DoI doesnt mean much when it comes to balance
AMRAAMs and CM count over other legacy platform ARH carriers
Unless we talk about the F3 Late which curb stomps the DI. But that is just pure compression issue
He is right that the Di should either be buffed or lower relative to a few, but there is no where for it to go…others need moving up
Fair but im not entirely sure if Tornado would win a dogfight against J37.
And no, enemy parking themselves perfectly in front of your guns yet again isnt an argument for tornado being good in dogfights :D

Gunfight… I think it would depend on fuel states actually, but most of the time yeah, viggen would hold the advantage.
But in every other theatre, i think the F3 does actually. 9Ms instead of 9Ls. And the F3 can run 4+4 Vs the viggens probably go-to of 2+4.
And f3 is faster, with better radar and RWR for the BVR.

Absolutely. But then again F.3 late kit is prolly best of the legacy platforms.

Yeah, and overdue some buffs. But both are 13.0 which is a good way to show case the need for BR decompression. Prior to the premium Su-30s. I would have advocated for the F3 Late to return to 13.3 with BOL fixes and Phimat Pods. but now… not a chance. Would need ASRAAMs and Aim-120C5s to cope with that.
How old do you think think that the J37DI is? Because the su33 isnt really much older than it, it is afterall a 90’s modernization, the su33 entered in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, btw there are vehicles far older than the viggen at 13.0 if it concerns you so much.
The BR is fixed.
Viggen D is a prime example of what 13.0s should be.
Viggen D has ~14 other equals at the same BR.
Gonna be real the Su-33 and 27 both need to go up lmao. I often win against fox 3 carriers because the R27ER is harder to notch than most fox 3’s and i can let it fly on IOG then lock radar once its close with no way to defend against it. Especially with the amount of missiles these two are fine going up imo. They are my favorite 13.0’s because they are the best 13.0’s
Im too quite fond of Su-33, but with R-27ER its not the IOG but the sheer speed it has, moreso when launched from plane already going above Mach 1.
There needs to be a lot of decompression happening, sadly. J37DI isnt the only victim, yet it isnt as bad as to inflict further pain and misery onto 11.7 should they get downtiered with current BR spread.
What is needed is for it to recieve its digital RWR so it can actually fight at altitude
The things that single handidly holds this vehicle back is the RWR. If it got a digital RWR, it would be fine. That would also bring up the question of the 13.3 vehicles like the MiG-29N and the ADF and how they should be adjusted
Eh poor RWR, mid flight performance, and no IRCCM misisles make it a pretty bad 13.0 definitely contender for the worst, though equally as bad as the Shar
