Fix scout UAV drone ramming

I agree. It’s simply counterproductive for absolutely no benefit whatsoever. Wasn’t even an intelligent design decision for WT years ago.

Nah i dont wanna see people base grinding just crash after dropping all their bombs, it would be too easy to abuse

… You understand it’s not even stopping them now, right? These people simply change to another aircraft in the meantime and run through a rotation. The Crew Lock mechanic is worthless and makes zero difference whatsoever.

And when it comes to helicopters I can’t tell you how many times I caught a crew lock because a tree or fence or pole with a ridiculous hitbox took out my rotors when it shouldn’t have even touched me in the first place.

I agree but also disagree, a lot of the reasons people crewlock are induced by poor gameplay decisions on behalf of the game but I also think it’s better to encourage people to not become dependent on things that give them the easiest ride all the time.

I think it’s reasonable to keep it if you RTH within the first 5 minutes of a match imho.

I rarely see anyone do this but removing crew lock would make it widespread

Need I remind you that it already is? You really think it hasn’t been ongoing before either of us even started playing this game?

Come now, fella. That’s just naive. Crew lock was worthless when it was first introduced, and it’s been worthless ever since. No point in keeping such a worthless mechanic.

Really? Just because people already do it you’re fine with taking away the only penalty that exists for doing it?

It’s not even a penalty - It’s simply a pointless inconvenience. The penalty is loss of SL.

Also, situations of crashing solely because of dogwater coding - Ex. Garbage hitboxes of objects - is Gaijin’s fault and is exactly one of the reasons why crew lock should be abolished. Simple as. I couldn’t care less about the people who purposefully crash or J out on a regular basis: That’s entirely their choice in their vehicles. It has no negative effect on me as someone on the opposing team and for those who do so even on my side of the match; Lot of the times it didn’t make or break the chances of winning anyways. Teammates in this game are most of the time enemies in blue that you just can’t shoot on sight, anyways.

The fact you haven’t also come to this conclusion despite having over 7K battles is somewhat concerning to say the least, but you do you. You’ll pick up on it eventually if you hang around.

The system needs to be refined, not removed entirely.

Yeah, no, it needs to be removed entirely. Simple as. End of discussion.

Now, back to the topic the thread is actually focused on.

The crew lock for crashing is in the game only to avoid toxic behavior, like giving a kill to an enemy by J’ing out close to them in a plane. But you are right, credits are not a sufficient disincentive to toxic behavior considering they are almost worthless after a certain point, but I don’t really know what to suggest as an alternative returnig to the main topic drone ramming shuld award a kill to the drone as any other metod of killing it

I am on topic, part of the drone ramming problem is crew lock

I wish they sounded like that, I didn’t even know he tried getting me the first time until I watched the video. New strat? Turning off drone engine for ramming???

Okay, making a meme of it is funny.

That guy was also extremely committed to it, but from the video it doesn’t even look like he hit your rotors and instead was just passing through, so I’m confused how he even got you.

Back to back drone rams right now. First gets me a crew lock on the AH-1Z right at the start of the game, so I go to Japan to continue grinding with the AH-1S and get rammed AGAIN right at the start of the game.

I just wanna fly my helis and motivate the team, is that too much to ask? I jest but seriously its super annoying quit for the night.

I wish I knew, its weird. Sometimes I can jink, sometimes it just hits the fuselages and blows up. But yeah 9/10 it clips the rotors :/

Goofy Ahh hitboxes and all that because Gaijin can’t code.
