Air RB games are won by killing all players. Not by bombing bases. However the game doesn’t tell that to the players. What does that mean?
Players, usually the ones that buy themselves to top tier, equip bombs on everything. R73s and R27s on a Mig-21 Bison? Nah mate, I’d rather bring 4 bombs. 10 Phantoms lemmingtraining towards the same base, while the remaining 6 teammates are left to die.
Games at high BRs are incredibly stale, as they are decided by who gets less bots farming a base. High tier as a whole is incredibly sloppy and the fact that 90% of the players seem to be content with the braindead loop of spawn - bomb - die elevates this issue even further.
Individual skill, let alone the slight chance of doing something in a bad plane like Tornado, Su-25, A10C or a Harrier are slim to none. You either are in a 10 vs 1 or a 1 vs 10. Fighters are usually faster than the dedicated strike aircraft, so you usually can’t get the planes with these usually bad planes and have to throw yourself in a fight with a plane that performs way better than you ever could.
Forcing players, or at least heavily incentivizing players into fighting other players with their fighters should be a priority.
Nah, average player will rather bomb to top tier jet, bomb with said top tier jet until he unlocks all the mods, them go to complain on forum how it needs the absolute most modern missile added ROGHT NOW THIS VERY SECOND because he never learned to notch.
Or to put in different words, average player is dumb as rocks and decreasing the reward wont force them to adapt.
Cool, then let them bomb 10 times longer. If they do it for long enough they might watch a tutorial that tell him to use the brain for thinking and actually start playing the game.
Nah, napalm is the only thing that makes it possible to stock grind certain planes. Until they fix stock grind, they shouldn’t nerf base bombing. Anyway attackers shouldn’t base bomb either, it’s the level zero of gameplay. What attackers need is a proper gamemode, and nuclear thunder is the testground for that
There’s no punishment for losing. There IS incentive for winning.
Punishment for players only occurs when they do something outside of the rules.
There’s no rule on how you are supposed to use vehicles - aside from passive “use” or abusive-to-team “use”.
Napalm basebombing screws over stock planes that don’t get napalm when stock/only few upgrades
F-15E for example is pain when stock even with capability to hit 2 bases fully, 80% of the time the bases will all be dead by the time you get into range for the dumb bombs or you get focused by su30 and their ten billion missiles you can’t defend unless ground hugging (no chaff is the worst)
Silly suggestion but I agree with the core idea that fighters shouldn’t contest bombers for bases. The game limits the amount of bombers per match to 4 for that reason; because there’s only 4 bases.
But this logic doesn’t work in upper ranks, since less and less planes are tagged as bombers, and instead they get replaced by strike planes. And more and more planes become multi-role, being able to carry bombs on top of missiles.
But this likely isn’t going to change since the trend these days is to limit the amount of PVE score earned during a match
The reason why bombers were limited to 4 was because entire teams would spawn bombers then win the match on tickets alone within a few minutes, and squad/top BR maximum is 4.
Nothing to do with base count.
Sorta true, but I don’t think they should remove that option, because dying in loops without any means to fight back isn’t a great way to get better at the game either
The winning part is Alvis’ AI hallucinating from the time where you were able to bomb airfields to win the game. F4Cs with full bombloads won games within minutes when they were introduced.
Bases nowadays give you minimal rewards, both in RP/SL and tickets. If all the base bombers would go and kill 3 AI they’d do more “damage” to the enemies tickets than by bombing 4 bases.
Overall, I don’t mind people in fighters bombing, I do it myself after the initial fighting is over and there are little people left. The issue I take with them is doing it in the first 10 or so minutes of the game. They are essentially removed from the team fight, leaving their remaining non-bombing teammates to die in a unfair fight. Dedicated bombers can’t get to the bases first because fighters are usually faster.
While I see where this is coming from, this a double edged sword.
Sure no more 23ML’s speedrunning bases.
But also stock grinding most if not all 13.0+ and especially 14.0+ jets, which wasnt an enjoyable experience whatsoever, will turn into absolute cancer as well.
