Idk if this has been brought up already, but could gaijin not help solve this problem and force certain aircraft into their dedicated roles if they just gave extra rewards for destroying what your plane is designated to destroy?
Ex:
1.5x reward for strike fighters to destroy convoys and bunkers
1.5x reward for bombers to bomb bases
1.5x reward for fighters to destroy other planes
You get the idea
Edit* maybe even 2x rewards for torpedo bombers or dedicated naval aircraft when it comes to sinking sea targets because in my experience the reward for that it horrible
I’m usually against nerfing rewards, however this is probably one of the few rare cases where I agree to it, but I think there should be a slight change to this.
Like in higher tiers, anyone that plays the F111A, Tornadoes, Su-17s, Su-22s, Su-24M, etc will have a difficult time trying to even get to a base due to fighters like the F4s, Mig 21/23, Mirage, etc get there before them.
Majority of the time, the fighters carrying the bombs basically are also unable to do any air to air fighting due to this, while strike fighters are pretty much left with nothing except a hail mary of trying to take down a plane with them.
Though one problem is top tier due to the lack of stock chaff, which sometimes forces players to bomb bases to get some of the required modules.
What should happen is this, for fighters, reduce rewards for bombing by 50% but also increase rewards for any air kills and assists by 50%. This way fighters are more rewarded for going for air kills instead of bases. Also that for 12.3 br and higher, stock chaff should be given out so that fighters don’t have to resort to bases to grind for a critical module.
This feels like the best way to address the problem.
Edit: Spelling
F4’s are fighter bombers what’s your complaint?
If this is about ARB, it’s totally nonsense.
There are situations I have to bomb bases in a fighter to win the battle. And with your solution I will get punished for it with less rewards?
Or vice versa, my favorite plane to play events is the Ayit, and I always play it as fighter. So should I get punished for it?
Here’s my experience and my perspective:
When I was spading the Saab F35, which is at 10.3, it was a nightmare. Stock you have no flares, 2 missiles that are glorified Aim-9B’s that chase the first flare they see, and guns. I’ll admit, the J35 is not a bad fighter, but the F35 is a Danish dedicated Strike Aircraft variant.
Anyways, after finally getting flares and bombs, you’d think it would easy peasy lemon squeezy to finish spading it, right?
Well no, while the F35 is no slouch when it comes to speed, when fully laden with a bomb load that can only take out a single base, I was getting out ran by F4’s, MiG’s, Mirages, and F-104’s, all fighters carrying ground strike ordinance.
Those fighters would out run me, taking the bases with, more often than not, napalm, go to the next base and do the same thing, forcing me to fly across the entire battlefield while fully laden with a load of bombs and my measly 2 flare hungry aim-9’s.
More often than not in that scenario, I don’t survive to make it to a base. the times I did make it to a base were either in a downtier, or maps that have high altitude above sea level where the F35 performs best.
TLDR; F35 good plane, is fast, but F4’s, MiG’s, Mirage’s, F-104’s, etc. are still faster even when loaded with bombs.
You are often better trying to hit ground targets 1st fly out, prioritize survival over killing lots of them, RTB then rearm for bases on the 2nd fly out, many of the base rushers will not survive the 1st run so you gave a much better chance getting one on the respawns and the increased survival time will give very good RP.
Of course for planes that don’t rely on napalm for bases you can take a loadout that can kill either ground or a base, if you can hit the base great, if not take out a few ground targets and RTB then try again.
I know it’s less then ideal, but some ground targets then possibly a base later is more profitable in the long run then trying to force a base on the 1st run and dying, at least that’s been my experience with it.
It’s also FAR less aggravating to play when you are considering bases as targets of opportunity rather than the sole objective.
Oh I apologise for playing the game casually as an average player. If you bomb as a fighter you don’t help your team and often get in a bad position anyway, wasting a fighter slot. Why not just use a strike aircraft
There are no dedicated fighter slots in ARB.
Bombers/Strike Aircraft neither. Everyone who want to bomb in the first run, weakens the team.
Only exceptions are EC maps because of the time limit. Most of the time you aren’t able to do a second run.
Is it not true that there’s an even number of bombers/strikes for each team? And with a fighter you can often utilise SARH which strike aircraft generally can’t
No, the only limit are 4 bombers for each team. That’s it. You can have a full team strike aircraft, and enemy only fighters. Even bomber slots aren’t even. Only max 4.
Oh so before you were calling me bad at the game but now it’s “my bad for being casual”, which is it?
No my guy it’s not true, why do you even think that
I initially thought that because from my experience of looking at who’s who on each team there was often an even number of strike aircraft and bombers. I don’t see why you have to come at someone with Statshark however since that shows that you have no other argument. Not to mention the fact that statshark is often wildly inaccurate
It’s always been a problem in low-tiers or high tiers; Wyverns, IL-10s, even though they’re ground-attack aircraft, still manage to steal bases from B-17 bombers, B-24s, Heinkel Bombers and Pe-8s. In top tiers, it’s the MiG-23s, MiG-21s, F-100s, F-86s that, instead of carrying good aerial weapons, prefer to take incendiary bombs or big bombs.
To note, bombers have a really big problem of hitting moving ground targets, when all bases have allready been bombed. Most bases are really far away and most bombers will get shot down, before they eventually reach them. I really only forgive ground attack aircraft, if there are no friendly bombers to bomb these bases, then they should bomb bases, because bases eat a lot of tickets.
You don’t know what you are talking about.
100-200tickets, amazing. This is relevant only on EC maps and on maps ground targets don’t bleed tickets. And guess what, except 1 single map they are all toptier, no bomber sees them. On all other maps base bombing for ticket bleed is nonsense. Every fighter can bleed way more tickets by ground pounding.
I never saw an airborne base in ARB…
?? The last bomber is at 9.0…
So in your mind, if I’m flying such planes, I’m not allowed to bomb bases? So I loose 10-20% of my battles at falklands. Because the planes “are allowed to bomb” don’t reach the bases in the first run, so they are all dead, and I sit in my fighter with a ticket disadvantage.
Instead of blaming players doing, what the game allows, bring up ideas to improve ARB.
The last bomber is at 9.0…
? Su-22, Tornados, F111s are classified as fighter bombers, So?

yes and no, the problem is that most people who use fighters in the beginning, they sacrifice air to air combat loadout for bombing loadouts. And if we in the 9.0 br range i see F100s and F86 sprinting to bases even though there are bombers on the team. Most of the time these people are just a wasted fighter slot. If you`re a fighter and trying to base pound, you should atleast pick some air to air combat to either defend yourself or friendly planes going for bases.
Strike Aircraft!
Every bomber/strike aircraft is wasting a fighter slot, so what?`
What air combat loadout picks a Su-7 player?
A F-100D (US/France) is able to bomb two bases without wasting anything.
I don’t know when you saw a F-86 bombing in the first run. My last one was a low lvl player weeks ago.
F-4S zomber mains has been braindead for ages, MiG-23ML mains is the recent one to succumb for such practices, back then they are the mainstay fighters, but then everything changed when the FM nerf and auto radar mode (the look down MTI when your jet actually pointing ground, and only works at like 2-3km altitude) implemented
