since bombers are now receiving survivability improvements i think its time we see fighters get there actual survivability improvements as a fighter getting cut in half by a 20mm cannon is very unrealistic many fighters recieve armor and strong structal airframes to actually take hits and it adds weight and they can never actually use it the flight models we are using are from like 2013 in prop tiers there extremely old and need updates like separate tail control for multi tail for planes that have 2 rudders like P38.

(would you like to see fighters get survivbility improvments next ?)
I don’t think they need a blanket buff to survivability, however they could use a rework in terms on consistency, it’s weird how they will take multiple hits of large cal HE with little damage, then a .303 MG round blows the wing clean off (although that might be and issue with gun damage models rather then aircraft damage models).
It would also be nice if they addressed the issue where some times a large portion of you plane is blown off and it still flies reasonably well, other times your wing gets a small section of yellow damage and it starts flopping around like a beached fish.
There is a middle ground they can find where you actually kill them but not with over tweaking it so a single 20mm disintegrates a plane cause thats just no fun

Simple question: Do you think this should be flyable in-game? How often should it be flyable? Should this level of damage be 100% survivable in instructor mode? How many cannon shells should it take to bring down a fighter?
I have actually landed my f4u with out the vertical stabilizer in game before I like the prop dmg in game hopefully they add more improvements to planes dmg model
First picture is just damage of flap and wingroot and second is damage of rudder, both commonly happen in WT. Planes literally do not fall apart from “a single 20mm hit”
I would love me some Hochtemperaturöl in my 109/190s
Ok so I’m just going to throw this out there… how about after taking severe damage instructor is disabled and you need to fly on full real controls? Now I’m not saying that should happen, just an interesting idea that popped into my head so I’m throwing it out there to see what people think.
