IFF just tells you whether something is friend or foe. NCTR, depending on how good it is, will tell you roughly what it is all the way up to IDing the aircraft specifically

In the Typhoon at the start of a match (especially in a downtier lobby) I’ll use NCTR to pick out weaker targets to lob missiles at from long range (long before their markers), generally produces quite reliable results. Also really nice in SB to know what you have on radar and thus how best to attack or defend against it

In the F-14A, it would allow you to do the same.

Oh its that thing
Well i wonder why f14 doesnt have it lime the rest if the planes that got it

Lack of sources probably

Then make thing up a bit
Lack of sources didnt stop gaijin adding some bs things for ussr

Yeah… but the soviets have different rules to everyone else.

Its not the soviets its gaijin
when they need to make things up for nato they do it in the worse possible way or just dont

Ah thanks, glad to finally have this cleared up then. So it’s the I-Hawks huh, wonder why I hadn’t seen this before. Thanks for showing me

Aim 54 and f90 can Pitbull if the seeker goes active and then loses lock and then sees something else that it can go active on
