[Fair Play] Fair Play: September 2025

Our team is working tirelessly to ensure than the game rules are being followed and that cheaters don’t stay in War Thunder. You can help us with this! Find out how to file a report and how our anti-cheat system works on our Wiki.

Banned accounts

Since our last fair play, we’ve banned 2639 accounts that were found to have violated the rules. Specifically 3.2.3 of the EULA namely in the automation of gameplay (using bots) and cheat software. For complete transparency, we’re publishing the full list of these banned players. This list will be available for two weeks after the publication of this article.

Additionally, 210 accounts have been banned for a week or longer for intentional teamkilling, ramming and griefing.

Recommendations

We recommend that you set a strong password for your account and enable two-step authentication in your profile security settings. We have the following 2FA options available: email, SMS, TOTP (Gaijin Pass/Google Authenticator), and Telegram bot, which we suggest trying if SMS 2FA messages are not reaching you.

We’d also suggest that you turn on 2FA for the email that is linked to your Gaijin account for additional security, as this will protect your account from fraudsters. And remember, don’t use prohibited client modifications and never share your account information with anyone.

This is always great to see! Thanks for the transparency, that way my squadron can easily check if any of our privates have been banned and we can remove them from our squadron. No room for cheaters!

For this month we had no privates banned.

The phrase “intentionally assault and cause suffering” seems a bit abstract.

I think that, as educators, you have an obligation to define the terms so that they do not become abstract or open to misinterpretation.

Seems like the translator is a small bit wrong (if the language you speak has a National community section here on the forum then this post should be posted in that language there).

The sentence mentions punishments issued to players that push others around to annoy them. For example driving into a friendly tank to push them out of cover so that enemies can shoot them, driving into friendlies so that they cannot move and play normally or flying a plane into a friendly plane so that they crash without the system registering it as a teamkill.

It also mentions “Griefing” which is a general game term for any behaviour that is purposefully done to disrupt a friendly players gameplay. For example continuously shooting smoke rounds on a friendly player so that they cannot see or play the game normally. There are likely other examples, but in short it’s any deliberate action done to a teammate with the goal of negatively affecting their gameplay.

I did all of this… and somehow somebody still managed to log in. We need stronger security.

I wrote in the teamkill thread that your auto-ban system has a way too high threshold - but imho you could introduce a game-mode ban much earlier.

Why?

I am tired of losing 2 or 3 teammates right at the start of the match. As Air RB is mostly determined by numbers those team killing “players” have quite often a decisive role - they are robbing “regular” players of victory SL/RP.

So if a “player” scores 2 team kills in a match (or a single day) he might not be in the mood to play Air RB - it seems logical that he might lose access to Air RB for a whole week and would be forced to fly in Air Arcade (no friendly fire) or Air SB (way faster temp bans).

You should really think about an additional deterrence in order to protect the majority of rule abiding players.

How about just remove teamkill… like in arcade you keep shooting your teammate you can sent back to the hangar.

Makes no sense to remove friendly fire in Air RB - u would be able to block shots from team mates just by flying in their bullet stream - just another way of griefing.

if your teammate has such a good aim and manages to grief you the entire dogfight. I would have been surprised.

I don’t care about my Air RB stats. I am trying to learn how to goddamn notch properly in top tier. And stop being teamkill almost every match.

OK. Your understanding was correct. But I still think that the definition of certain actions should be accompanied by examples (for future posts), as the text remains abstract for those who do not read your description.

However, regardless of the translation, which contains abstractions, I think the word “ally” or “comrade-in-arms” is missing from the original text. Whether translated or not, it implies that killing an enemy also causes suffering. lol

Can we also add “alt account banned”?
