JA37, while it covers less bands with its RWR, has launch and track detection, an all aspect PD radar with dogfight sparrows, and up to 6 missiles. If we were to compare both the Phantom and the viggen in different scenarios at any range, the viggen could and would succeed in close and medium range combat in most of those scenarios because it has overall better avionics and a better airframe, and will most definably beat a phantom in a dogfight. Now, yes the phantom cant really turn to save its life, and yes the viggin can lose all its speed with one or two turns, but if both sides played smart, the viggen would win overall with better avionics and overall better airframe allowing it to do more than what the phantom could theoretically. Over long ranges, the phantom would win because its sparrows outrange the viggen’s dogfight sparrows and having a longer range radar (given the fact its a velocity radar)
mind boggling that IR only Kurnass 2000 still has the same Air BR as F-4EJ Kai, and they’re not even IRCCM.
they could’ve be 12.0 like the Naval Phantoms, even the more agile Viggen D is 12.0 that could carry 6 AIM-9L/Rb74 aside that it has at least 2 Skyflash
At higher br, it is much more difficult as most players arent inexperienced you can get good games but a good match isnt sealclubbing, and also i would expect a crazy high kd and ks
