F3H should be nerfed to 9.3 or 9.7 immediately

I think it was a blanket buff for the entire AIM-7 series so I doubt Gaijin spent much time thinking about the potential balance implications of individual aircraft, especially for anything not top tier, they will likely address it in the next balance patch or two.

Eventually people will learn to stop flying in straight lines.

also for whoever still thinks that this is a matter of “skill issue” and “situational awareness” and its clearly balanced

i had 5 kills and 5 deaths (i think, i played this back in the day) when i first started and it was a complete stockgrind
now i have 50 kills and 6 deaths and i genuinely think that this plane is more braindead than mig 25 or even being a spacebar main (bombers)

so i dont think this is a matter of a skill issue and its clearly overperforming to an extent where dogfights are no more possible

You underestimate the dumbness of players.

Yeah, it is also fair at the BR range of 8.0 and 9.0 one team has now BVR missiles and the opposite team not. So one team has to manouver and loose energy, whereas the F3H team get the automatilcaly the energy advantage.

Do you know atually how this games work ?

The funny thing is now that the F3H players flying straight and getting kills witout any skill on Tu95 or B52.

Yeah, you are right. The main issue ia now, that there is a hord of F3H who are abusing the planes now.
You face on average 4 x F3H. They shoot everting down at attitude with the sparrows. Than they dive down with an energy advantage and clean the deck with 4 x 20 mm and the Aim9B.

I was trying to spade the Greek F-102. I know the plane is absolute dogshit, but it’s a challenge. But man, those constant F3H matches actually lasted maybe 5 minutes on average. I side climbed with the F-102, and when I reached 4–5 km to engage the bombers, my team was already getting eaten alive by the F3H horde.

My win rate with the F102 is around 25%. I have checked the win rate of the F3H players, usually around 75 %.

Why does Gaijin need nearly three weeks to address the F-3H issue, and still nothing has happened?

They have yet to adress premium Su-30s after what, year since they appeared?

I have zero hope that any sort of balance will happen in regards to F3H.

I do think it has to go up but i dont think it would be good at 9.7? If it goes to 9.7 it should atleast get somekind of other buff aswell. At 9.7 it would have to face alot of missiles in uptier and it has no flares. Maybe giving it aim 7d or something? the balancing of this game is difficult because of the compression around this BR. It will have to go up to know what works and doesnt

I played the F3H in Sim this weekend, and I have to admit that it’s kinda OP at 9.3. The missiles are very defeatable, but the problem is the lack of planes with RWR to know when a Sparrow is coming. And the F3H also has a nice IFF radar, where many planes at 9.3 don’t.

It was really fun, but it was brain dead easy. Felt kinda unfair TBH. Might need a bump to 9.7 in Sim.

I’ll keep this plane in my back pocket, for the next Zomber event. 😏

This shit again ? , just wait for br changes Gaijin don’t make changes like this

I mean war thunder doesn’t exactly do many of the downsides of technology or planes in game as it would be time consuming and near impossible to replicate everything fully to how it is, not to mention war thunders combat environment is basically akin to IRL testing grounds rather than anything actually resembling field conditions.

One thing to acknowledge about this graph(although yes, its still crazy the Aim-7s ability) is that thanks to the rules of engagement in Vietnam, most true combat scenarios occurred well inside of the inner limit of Sparrows. At distances, they were still pretty reliable as far as I am aware. Making the graph itself rather skewed data and not a comment on necessarily Missile Performance but also engagement rules and performance.

This is something that War Thunder doesn’t have (especially in ARB and AAB- where you get enemy markers from a good distance away), which does need to be acknowledged

this is exactly what im talking about
As an early jet main who loves flying MiG 15s and 17s
i believe having an energy advantage is an absolute necessity… it is important to take a good position at the start in altitude to choose targets and pick them off, becuase especially with those planes, unlike the sabres, it is important to get slow to aim properly and get kills most of the time
but becuase of this F3H spam, you are forced to counter aircraft that is vastly superior than you with much better missiles, and because even if you do see the missile incoming, you need to dodge, essentially dumping all your important energy out of the window and ending up omitting your energy advantage.
especially in BR ranges between 8.3 and 9.0 it is very hard to be effective without an energy advantage

That’s fine. It’s already a subpar dogfighter anyways.

Bombers don’t decide balancing.

A game just a few minutes ago. There were 9 x F3H in my team. So we have here theoretically 36 sparrows against a team that has none. The game was decided after 4 minutes.

Can somebody from Gaiin expalin me how this is fair and balanced ?

No, what about the Terminators …

yes, that would be fine if there is only one F3H. what if there are multiple? as seen in the image below? there is nothing much you can do if multiple F3Hs decided to gangbang you while also having an energy advantage

also having that many F3Hs means that the lobby is most likely 9.0 or above, meaning dogfighting F3Hs might be least of your problems

Literally completely irrelevant to the F3H. Being in a 1v2+ is bad no matter what plane your enemy is using.
