the message wasnt supposed to be taken serious anyways

Sure is an interesting take 👍

6 R27ERs is still oppressive should move up SU33 only gets 2 more also has same amount of R73s on a similar flightmodel with better energy retention but worse instant AOA and has more flares and chaff making defending easier

@PyroAddict
You responded to the wrong post for one. Cause you literally agreed with me that F-15A isn’t getting AIM-120s.

Mirage 4000 is significantly worse than F-15A.
Flanker has not been buffed in dogfight ability. Only its acceleration was buffed, but its maneuvering drag was nerfed to account for that.

Gripen doesn’t have the acceleration nor missile count and range to be as lethal as an F-15A. All it has is dogfight.

At what?

at anything that has to do with energy retention

like my comment if this is a stupid decision

What kizvy said.
The only thing Mirage 4000 does well is have 8x Magic 2s.
But it’s one of the worse flight performers for air RB and air sim.

It’s still one of my favorite jets of all time as well.

He’s not wrong though, If the F-15A can operate with 4x Aim-9M and 4x Aim-7M at 12.7, then why not everyone else with their 12.7s, Its a stupid increase to compression, but if that is the decision Gaijin is making… They might as well commit to it fully. Equally a lot of stuff needs to go down too. How can you possibly justify the Harrier GR7 for example only 0.3 lower

Its been a few months since the last time i played the M4000, but i dont remember bad energy retention being one of the plane´s weak points.

You have Viggens, Harriers, Tornados, Su-27s, J-8, Kfir, MiG-29s, F-14s, F-5s and even F-4s at the exact same br as the M4000, are you sure about it being one of the worse flight performers?
It literally beats everything except the Gripen and F-2A FM-wise

I’ve been actively arguing for the possibility to move the F-15A down to 12.7 without its 9Ms and only 9Ls. And again, there’s a relevant argument to be made for its radar’s quality. What’s the use of four 7Ms if the F-15As radar has unreliable illumination?
Albeit knowing the different contexts, it’s the F3H-2 situation.

It has 4 AIM-7Cs at 9.0? Sure.
The radar is decent at altitude? Yeah.
It makes it a good plane by just having SARH in numbers? Absolutely not.

It would be better if it happens
But well… we all knows that F-15A will slings 4 9M with 240CM luthlessly against enemies…

While MiG-29 stays with R-60M :|
And Harrier GR.7 with no AIM-7M.

Gaijin way of balancing…

and what is the better solution, submit a bug report for the faulty radar or drop its BR down? Though Ive rarely if ever actually seen it as badly affected as some claim when fighting it

f-15a just doesn’t have lprf, also known as “pulse mode” (also didn’t have it irl)
So its radar is always stuck in pd, while other radars like f-16 can switch between pd and pulse mode.
IMO, it’s not that much of a disadvantage, as most kills, you will be firing 7ms against people that are going headon anyways

Given how Gaijin uses its bug report system to fix issues at their own discretion and not because they have kind hearts nor they care really how playable a vehicle is, I’d be fine with the latter.

They won’t fix it nor I’d expect it see it fixed anytime soon (even if I do the bug report like right now) because it won’t be an issue which it’ll greatly boost their revenues, and it’s reasonably clear they’re not interested in the US air tree that much as of lately. It just follows the same principle as the Challenger 2s issues.

You can pull the most detailed bug reports out there, if they don’t care on fixing those issues, you just have to play along on their terms.
And their current terms right now is just a lazy shift in BR placements.

I'm sorry, but that can be somewhat challenged through this image.

It’s just the survivorship bias doing its work. You can’t simply judge its effectiveness by the ones who really tracked you, because there certainly was (and I mean there easily was) an amount of sparrows which simply never made it somewhere near your location, and you probably never even noticed nor you had to notch them to begin with.

This is a meaningless difference though, you would never want to be in SRC non PD
