F15A in 12.7 BR

Both are bad, but atleast the Su-30s aren’t better than quite a few 13.7s.

Also, have you seen the complaints on the Su-30s being to low?

picks a bad aspect for launch
clearly notices target reacting and preparing to fire back
fails to dump speed to enter panic notch
headbuts missile like a boss

“F15A is mid as it gets”

Big nation players shouldn’t have a say in anything.

a r-27r or r-27er or aim 7p or even a competent radar would’ve allowed him to at least trade.
Instead the f-15 just dies

Maybe, doesn’t change the fact that If you fuck your launch up, no matter the plane/missile you have to pre notch and start defending because the guy you tried firing out is 100% going to fire back.

i concede I’m beeing a bit abrasive because I keep getting F15a’s in my F1C matches and I’m literally turbo fucked as long as theyre around so when I see an F15a user suffer I smile a little.

Awesome, great technical argument.

Proves furthermore that most of people who excessively praises the F-15A either haven’t ever played it or literally carries dogwater stats with it.

Get the Baz soon enough and find on your own how is not as OP or broken as many here implied throughout +600 messages.

Two months later, and 12.7 is practically 13.0 anyway, 4/5 games looks like this:

This thing sucks at that environment btw lol

As with the other 12.3 - 12.7 vehicles.

It’s not that they should be moved down but rather some 13.0s and most 13.3+ just need to be moved up.

lmao

In my experience the F15A just feels like a slightly faster F4 with a big radar intersection and no speed for protection like when it was first released. It’s radar is weak in this game and it’s mostly dunked on and unusable in an up tier. It’s probably were it’s supposed to be.

here comes the irony, Gaijin “upgraded” the US’ F-15 with the AN/APG-63 PSP radar (which includes the RAM mode after tracking), however, the radar upgrade took the basic pulse tracking, leaving it with just PD, rendering it even more unreliable on TRK (As it can’t switch between TRK PD and basic pulse TRK) than the standard F-15 radar on the Baz/F-15J.

With the ongoing premium spam, I would gently advise everyone to not touch the F-15s with a 10 foot pole, or at the very least the 15A.

I was super excited to unlock the F-15A after playing the F/A-18A, but it’s honestly not even better. People just like to overreact anytime anything American is moved down.

The only real downside to the F-15A’s radar is the lack of TWS mode. The lack of TRK is… annoying, but consider this. 1. It only activates when someone is notching and 2. people chaff when they notch, so TRK is almost always broken anyways. Is it weaker than many other 12.7+ radars? Yes. is it unusable? no. Mirage 4k and Tornado F.3 Late are both 0.3 Br higher right now with PD HDN only radars.

And the kit. It’s mid for 13.0 but damn near oppressive at 12.7. 4 decent 7Ms and 4 9Ms - which are the 2nd best general IR missiles besides the AAM-3. Also comes with 180 pops of countermeasures. Let’s compare this to other 12.7 jets:
MiG-29(9-12): 4 R-60Ms (LOL) and 2 ERs (strong but not as versatile as having 4 7Ms). Outright worse flight model. 60 cms
F-16A (12.7): 6 AIM-9Ms, with squadron OCU able to swap in 4 magic 2s instead. No BVR capability whatsoever. Strong flight model, but slower plane + only 45 cms
F-16AJ: Outright downgrade from this thing - 4 9Ls, 2 7Ms, roughly the same radar. 45 cms. Not even worth considering.
F/A-18C Early: 6 AIM-7P which is objectively better than 7M, but only 9Ls. Good TWS. Airframe is mach 1.2 maximum (compared to F-15A’s mach 2+). Also only 60 cms.

Sure. It sees a lot of uptiers - but that’s compression, which affects all vehicles between 12.0 and 13.0. Of the 12.3/12.7s, the F-15A is the most capable in an uptier when you consider the alternatives.

False, the F-15s radar already goes numb to enemies maneuvering past 45°, you can even watch examples posted on this very same thread above.

It’s not about keeping TRK forever, it’s having TRK long enough so TRK PD returns to lock, to which its a QOL mechanic that’s currently not existing on the F-15A, and ultimately, the lack of such leads to lose a launched 7M (only on the american F-15, the rest doesn’t have this caveat).

You said it. Is the airframe a gamechanger and completely oppresive? I highly doubt it.
Gaijin should remove the 9Ms so people can finally stop crying over the F-15 for once and for all.

To be honest, I consider even the F/A-18A to be better than the F-15A. The F-15A can go faster, but it compresses horribly if you go any faster than mach 1. Bad agility wouldn’t normally matter too much of an issue for a missile oriented plane, but when most planes you face also carry Aim-7F/M/P, the small amount of time longer it takes you to roll over and get your ACM on them can be the difference between winning and losing a joust. Also, it makes it harder to follow terrain whilst multipathing which is especially bad in mountainous areas.

Or people should just stop dying to a slightly upgraded Aim-9L. The R-73, Magic 2, and AAM-3 are all leagues better, but barely anyone complains about em. Aim-9M just gets extra complaints for being on American planes.

As a 12.7 where it’s just better than every other 12.7 by wide margins besides the F18?

Is it true the f15a has a bugged radar compared to the f15j and Baz?

it is a different radar than the Baz idk about F15J

and it is missing a few very nice features including TWS and detailed NCTR

The AIM-9M is far better in most air RB scenarios than all of these besides the AAM-3
The AAM-3 being modelled as literally just an AIM-9M with less drag.

having used magic 2s R-73s and 9ms I gotta say 9m > magic 2 > r73. the R-73 is objectively the worst IRCCM missile in the game due to it being so fucking slow which makes it an easy flare

That’s why you use it at close range. It’s not bad, you’re just using it improperly.
