Compared to the f or m just the fact that the p has data link and IOG are a upgrade
Awg 9 in game has data link if it didn’t you wouldn’t be able to launch all six aim 54 in rapid succession out side of the ARH seeker head range
sadly gaijin is right the data link doesnt mix with the aim7p only pheniox F14D can use the DL though on its apg71

and even sadder gaijin doesnt model duel plane which only benifits russian missiles as far as i know

I understand them not modeling it for early missiles, but when it has been proven the missile will adjust to always use duel plane it should definitely be modeled in game.

DCS tomcat definitely has a steering cue for missile launch
Higher BR needed one of the reason all play on the deck are F-14 just put the higher so people can play.
the F14s BR is fine now. when they were lower it was physically impossible to play the game at high tier
AIM-54 lock is abysmal tho
weve all learned how to escape it now.
there was also so many as it was the dominant meta that it had to be almost ruined to keep the game from dying at that BR.
It was genuinely horrendous in the several months before and months after the free tomcat incident
