It’s not even, I can’t go positive in it at all. My F-4J UK is so much better, at least it gets SkyFlash and AIM-9G which are better than the Fakour-90 and AIM-9P. The stock grind for the Tomcat is too hard. At least the Phantom can dogfight.

The F-14 is an incredible dogfighter, especially when you slam the wings forward and force your opponent into a 2 circle fight.
The stock grind for every jet sucks balls.
While i do agree the the 9G is better than the 9P, the IRAF gets to dominate long range with the Fakour-90 and has the excellent R-27 to back it up in short-medium range.

Out of interest do you have the “Wing Sweep” controls bound?
i think maybe a late slat F-4 like the Kurnass 2000 and F-4S could maybe outturn it in the first turn with no external weapons and min fuel, thats it tho

Most likely but even when I play the F-14 it just can’t get a handle on F-16s and SU-27s

Well in my experience I cannot play the F-14 at all, but the F-4J UK and F-4 FGR.2 are so easy to play against them. F-4 can outdogfight the F-14 easily, but the F-14 really struggles at anything except AIM-54/Fakour which are easy to defeat anyway
The F-90 is the best ARH in the game in terms of range. The Aim-9J is a harder pulling and tighter turning sidewinder than the Aim-9G/H, however the Aim-9G/H does have slightly more range.
The F-14A is also massively superior to the F-4 series in terms of flight preformance. The Kurnass 2000 may be able to give it a run for its money, but it’ll still lose 9 times out of ten to that thing.

ARH doesn’t matter because the Fakour-90 is still one of the easiest to defeat providing you have an RWR and half a brain cell.
2G pull is basically no difference, and the massive effective range difference is so incredibly useful.
Ehh not really, in my experience I find it playing like a 109 Emil and the Phantom is more like a 190 Dora, much better performing PROVIDED you know how to play it.
Personally don’t have the K2000, only Phantoms I have that face it are the F.3 and the F-4M. Even the F-4EJ which I have would probably do better than it.
That would be because you’re playing it wrong, as there’s no other explanation to it.
Are you using TWS for your ARH missiles? Are you Multipathing when you can? Are you paying attention to your RWR? Are you using manual wing sweep and maintaining your energy? What missile loadouts are you taking?
Also on the topic of the F-4J, may I remind you that the F-4S is superior to it in every way. Not only does it get an agile eagle package, but it also gets the Aim-9H with slightly better flare resistance. Despite this, the F-14A is still vastly superior to even the F-4S, given its superior high and low speed flight performance, better Radar, and vastly superior Radar missiles.

I’m well aware. It also gets AIM-7F. It just happens I don’t play US enough and thus never decided to buy the F-4S

The stat card isn’t the only thing you should be looking at. The again AOA is higher, and the turning circle of the 9J is superior to the 9G because of it.

Fair enough. Essentially the Kurnass 2000 has better engines than the regular F-4E, while also having the latest generation of the agile eagle package present ingame. It’s the best phantom flight performance wise, however it’s still a phantom and quite slow and sluggish at lower speed. The F-14A can still beat it at any speed level.
May I ask, have you unlocked the F90 and R-27R already? You shouldn’t ever take the Aim-54 over the F90 as ingame the F90 has superior range and pull (it didn’t have better rage IRL, but alas gaijin does gaijin things).
You also shouldn’t be using the Aim-7E2 when you can be using the R-27R with better range and pull.

I’m well aware, I am well aware they also lie, with experience in the F-16AJ, and F-14A IRAF along with the F-4M/F.3 I am pretty sure I can tell which is the better missile and it’s 100% the AIM-9G
It probably isn’t but that’s my experience. I KNOW I am not good at flying the F-14, and I am pretty sure the people I dogfight have no idea how to use it either…
