which are also other rare planes to see in the game,
yak 141 is 12.7, only in ground battles it is 12.0
It’s not what I’m seeing as I complete the Persian Tomcat event, I was using my Mirage F1C-200 and Mirage 2000c/dr1 to get the modification bonuses researched to finish the Benelux tree, and mostly I only face tomcats.
I have other nations in the top tier such as China, Israel and Sweden ( I’m grinding Italy now) , I tried changing nations and even so, in this BR range you only face tomcats.
if you face the f14 with another 4 gen plane, it’s a normal matchup, it’s completely ok… Now facing him with a 3 gen plane is very challenging, to not saying frustrating.
The technological and performance gap is too big for him to bully 3rd generation fighters… The tomcat’s place is mostly among 4 gen fighters
USA is the most popular nation in the game, has the most powerful line up when it comes to air superiority, and is one of the nations that has one of the worst performances in the game.
Several balancing decisions around the USA are made due to this poor performance.
Because the nation’s popularity directly affects its statistics.
Huh, no.
This is factually wrong. Both the 530D and the ST are very good missiles, but they have half the range of the 7F, and aren’t much more agile either. The 530D also has some weird guidance where it adjust its course at the last second which can cause it to miss entirely if it doesn’t have lots of energy left.
I don’t have the ST yet (currently grinding for the F3), but from what I’ve seen, it’s a very good missile at around 15~km range maximum, from a mach1+ launch. I can easily score kills at double this range with the 7F.
The ideal range for the 530D is around 8km, and for the ST it’s about 12. The 7F completely blows both of those out of the water in term of maximum range. It’s only losing to the SuperTemp in speed.
7F/7M are currently the second best SARH missile ingame, second only to the R27ER (which is far better, not arguing that).
Thats great an all, but how often do you use the sparrow above 20Km, under that range the SuperTEMP is better, and in a headon, the Super 530D is much faster.
You can launch the Sparrow much earlier than your opponent, which is its biggest advantage. And I do very routinely launch the 7F at around 25km, especially on the planes that carry up to 6 of them, like the 4S and the F14A and B.
The 530D isn’t that faster either. It’s a very heavy missile first of all and it has a ton of drag.
Maybe in a 1v1
But after the launch warning update to the RWR’s i dont often do this as a simple notch and you loose the missile, I prefer to use the sparrows under 20km usually, mostly in headons, but thats just my playstyle, yours could be different
Its MACH 5 capable and its acceleration is much better, when i used the mirage 2000’s i always hit first, it could also come down to me cranking and them not, USA players, espically the F4S ones arent the smartest
for example, now I just started a game of F104 S TAF… And I played against more than 2 F14A
I didn’t die to the phoenix, but the f14 completely impacted my gameplay, it forced me to play defensively and lose space on the map and spend a reasonable amount of countermeasures, in my team I had a j35xl, which is a plane without rwr and 6 chaffs (that’s if he was taking chaffs) is there against f14A?
Yup it’s a very fast missile when fired at high altitude due to lower air density.
It’s faster off the rail than the 7F, and pull a bit less off the rail as well, which makes it kinda worse at closer range due to the risk of overshooting. It’s generally better than the 7F in the 5km-8km range.
I’m not sure how it is for other nations, but every 7F carrier starting from the F4S can actually guide two at the same time. Of course, it will be on the same target (they’re not ARH), but on planes that carries up to 6 of them, it’s often worth it for me to launch a first one at 20-25km range, and then a second at around 12-15 to secure the kill if the target didn’t move too much.
I didn’t test this on other nations, since for most of them you can only carry up to 2 SARH missiles, but I believe both the Mirage and the Migs cannot do this.
Not to mention how much speed and position you lost; your speed went from 1 mach to 0.79 mach. If this were not a custom game, the f-14 would just ride your ass and gun you down.
Yes let me fly defense for 1-2 minutes in a plane that cant BVR and return to a match where 60% of the players are dead because thats how many people are going to die at that BR in the first merge.
If my team lost im going to be dogpiled by enemy team if we won im now behind and pointlessly trying to chase down kills ill never make it to before my team does.
Sure would be nice if I had aim54s to you know kill stuff while im flying defensive.
So the F104S TAF is 11.3, and so is the J35XS, so at most, there was 4 enemy 12.3’s in the game and no f14b’s, the f14A has the same weapons as the F4J + the AIM-54A, which arent worth taking more than 2 of. And if the F14s took more than 2, like 4 or 6, they probably instantly turned around to go get more, leaving their team at a massive disadvantage.
Which is the same BR as the F14B and 1 step up from the F14A, so again, like ive been saying the entire time, they will always see eachother,
Not to mention the Yak-41M can also carry 4 R27’s, I usually run 2 R27ER’s and 2 R27T’s, the R27ER is better than both the sparrow and phoenix, and the R27T is really hard for the F14 to flare in rear aspect, and for the MiG-29s, they either get 2 R27s and 4 r60m’s (great loadout btw) or 2 r27’s and 4 R73’s(MiG-29G), it has 2 less missiles but better missiles imo, the R60M is better than the AIM-9H on the F14A and the R73 is better than the AIM-9L.
Not to mention its not USA vs everyone
Its often USA v USA because of how many people play american top tier, and the F4S spam
