F14 It's too strong for the current BR(12.3-12.7)

I find the multipath to work quite great against AIM-54’s

The current F-14A is labeled as “early” but it’s more of an amalgamation of several F-14As throughout their service life, I think it would be fine.

If you had both Pheonixes and SARHs fired at you something went very wrong with your positioning. The F-14 should fight other 4th gens but to stay competitive it needs all aspect and IRCCM missiles for their respective variants.

In 90% of games, there isnt terrain to hide behind. Phoenixes will still splash you even if they land in narnia after missing. Shrapnel shouldnt be spraying everywhere if they hit the ground.

They modeled it from 1977 SAC but, they still can get AIM9Ls because U.S. Navy tested it in China Lake with F-14A at same year.

Fly low and just noching bro

2x AIM-9M stock instead AIM-9L, change cockpit & HUD from F-14D. and could add AIM-9M-8 Sidewinder & AIM-7P Sparrow

Or change to 13.0 for 3 mode

I play most nations so dont accuse me of being an american main but

In what way? speed, its not the fastest
maneuverability? f16/mig29/f15/gripen dance on it, its big and heavy
missiles? maybe

these are all great options and ive played all but the f4ej kai.
the tomcat is huge with massive hot engines, all of these have AIM-9L python 3 or magic 2, which can easily ignore the tomcats flares because of the heat.
Also the SUPER 530D and Skyflash SuperTEMP are better than the AIM-7F/M the tomcats have.

The MiG-29, which you havent mentioned is at the same br as the F14B. also has the R27ER, which is alot better than the Sparrow and Phoenix on the tomcat, its faster and has way more maneuverability. And if you loft it, you can get 60km kills, just like the tomcat can, but far more reliably.

yes, these are all great options and i do well in all but the bison(i dont have it)

Their really not a threat, if you get locked, just turn 90 degrees either way and drop chaff, if its fired from further then turn cold and afterburn, it has no speed by this point, then go low then verticle and loop back over, the missile wont be able to climb to hit you, or just hide behind a mountain, theres alot now on the bigger maps, their not as flat.

and worse case scenario, just out pull the thing, its a big heavy 17g missile, its not hard to out pull.

Dont try to multipath it, its basically a mach 5 500lbs bomb. it will kill you if your under the 60m multipath limit.

This match up is rare, the f14 only face it in uptiers, the vast and devastating majority of games the f14 faces a 3rd gen plane, in the br range that the f14A/B finds itself in, or more frequent 4th gen planes that it faces is the mirage 2000c and yak 141, which are still rare in this br too.

Popularity is why. Which shouldn’t be a balancing factor.

Faces what? The MiG-29(9-12) and MiG-29(9-13) are both 12.7 just like the F14B,
The Mirage 2000C-S4/5 are both 12.3, the same br as the F14A, they always see eachother, Yak141 is a much lower 12.0BR
13.0 Gets alot of downtiers, including the F16A ADF MiG-29G Gripen A F16A(France) etc.
Id rather take any of these over a tomcat.
Not to mention the AV-8B Plus and the J8F, which gets AIM-120s and PL-12 respectively, both missiles are better than the AIM-54

But sadly it affects a balancing factor. :/
not directly but it affects to statistics

more players in the player base → higher chance of having worse statistics → lower average reward netting → higher chance of Gaijin thinks ‘it is fine’ or even ‘it is underpowered’.

can’t wait for the day that my Meteor F.8 goes higher BR than F-86F.

which are also other rare planes to see in the game,

yak 141 is 12.7, only in ground battles it is 12.0

It’s not what I’m seeing as I complete the Persian Tomcat event, I was using my Mirage F1C-200 and Mirage 2000c/dr1 to get the modification bonuses researched to finish the Benelux tree, and mostly I only face tomcats.
I have other nations in the top tier such as China, Israel and Sweden ( I’m grinding Italy now) , I tried changing nations and even so, in this BR range you only face tomcats.
if you face the f14 with another 4 gen plane, it’s a normal matchup, it’s completely ok… Now facing him with a 3 gen plane is very challenging, to not saying frustrating.
The technological and performance gap is too big for him to bully 3rd generation fighters… The tomcat’s place is mostly among 4 gen fighters

USA is the most popular nation in the game, has the most powerful line up when it comes to air superiority, and is one of the nations that has one of the worst performances in the game.
Several balancing decisions around the USA are made due to this poor performance.
Because the nation’s popularity directly affects its statistics.

Huh, no.
This is factually wrong. Both the 530D and the ST are very good missiles, but they have half the range of the 7F, and aren’t much more agile either. The 530D also has some weird guidance where it adjust its course at the last second which can cause it to miss entirely if it doesn’t have lots of energy left.

I don’t have the ST yet (currently grinding for the F3), but from what I’ve seen, it’s a very good missile at around 15~km range maximum, from a mach1+ launch. I can easily score kills at double this range with the 7F.

The ideal range for the 530D is around 8km, and for the ST it’s about 12. The 7F completely blows both of those out of the water in term of maximum range. It’s only losing to the SuperTemp in speed.

7F/7M are currently the second best SARH missile ingame, second only to the R27ER (which is far better, not arguing that).

The update just dropped give people time to grind,

Thats great an all, but how often do you use the sparrow above 20Km, under that range the SuperTEMP is better, and in a headon, the Super 530D is much faster.

The only thing the sparrow has is range

That my b, i had my grb lineup selected when i looked

But still, its the same br as the F14B, they will always see eachother

You can launch the Sparrow much earlier than your opponent, which is its biggest advantage. And I do very routinely launch the 7F at around 25km, especially on the planes that carry up to 6 of them, like the 4S and the F14A and B.
The 530D isn’t that faster either. It’s a very heavy missile first of all and it has a ton of drag.
