ive got to be honest ive never had a fox 3 fired at me from an angle that defeats multipath. usually its just lucky hits from a BVR toss.
when a missile is shot at me i do change direction but notching doesnt really work against quite a few radars so i found it to be futile. Certainly never works against a hornet when i use them.
I find low altitude to be the advantage as nobodys missiles (until you get into range of russian/chinese IR missiles, aim 9m doesnt work lmao) can touch you at all and BVR is boring to me
I don’t recommend flying high with only FOX-1 missiles, they are best as a head-on missile joust weapon or to save a teammate from an enemy in a dogfight (as IR missiles cant be trusted)
F-16ADF shits on premium hornets in every way while KWS can easily forces hornet to go notch or multipath with Aim-120’s while sending Aim-9’s with irccm.
Dunno, Ive played Hornet again this month after like 4 month break and I find it more fun than ever, currently sitting at 2.45 KD across 60 games, compared to my alltime 1.76 across 232 games.
Its the best 12.7 no doubt, in fact best 12.7 hornet sits in German tree ironically, problem is 12.7-13.7 is so compressed that most of the time premium hornets find themselves against Fox-3 platforms.
Honestly just give it the 120a’s and bump it up to 13.3 or 13.7 and call it a day. Soviet prems got good missiles with a borderline useless radar. The F/A-18 prems can have okay ish missiles with an overly-ghosting okay ish radar.
Sure idm personally, but at that point lacking HMD is kinda pain like the Finnish version - it also has less CM’s and a weaker engine in after-burner mode than the late model which is substantial imo but but
