The F/A-18 does not have any powerful missiles. It has outdated Sarrow and AIM-9L which are dropped as decoys. While the MiG-23ML has all-aspect missiles.
It’s funny that no one uses these Sparrows in the game and everyone flies with AIm-9L because these are the only normal missiles, Sparrows have been nerfed so many times that they are absolutely useless. The last time I tried to shoot down a bot on a MiG-15 with them and the Sparrows couldn’t keep up with him.
AIM-7Fs are fine my F4J has no problem
then get good. im using the mig23 ml and it gets about a kill per game, just stop being dumb and dying to aim7p/m’s
Hornet is supremely popular and so is f4s, mig21bison and mirage f1c are also fairly popular.
I’m currently playing on the F/A-18A and these sparrows are just awful. They are very slow, constantly flying somewhere to the side, the capture itself is constantly broken. It is very difficult to use them in a frontal attack.
Lmao what? It has pretty standard loadout for BLUFOR plane at this BR.
I assume you mean sparrows, and beside 7Ps, these are pretty much best SARH non-russian/chinese planes can get.
Im gonna assume that by “MiG-23ML has all-aspect missiles” you refer to R-60Ms, but you cant possibly think R-60Ms are better than 9Ls.
is pay2win right now, should been at br13. But it will get nerfed same as other premiums, now gajin made this low br intentionaly so they can sell many planes. Ppl never learn.
have you considered that maybe sarh missiles arent a “i win” for headons…?
most missiles joust end with both sides defeating the other’s missiles and thats when the merge starts
I have long abandoned planes on Sparrows because they are useless. They have been nerfed so many times that these missiles have turned into useless firecrackers. If before there was a point in using Sparrows because they did not go into traps, now in addition to the fact that you have to constantly re-aim the missile at the target, it can also fly anywhere. What the gaijin did with this missile is a mockery.
Now the Mig-23 has R-23, these are very good missiles, how many times I was shot down with them, Ooooh. These missiles do not react to your traps, they are very fast, these R-23s caught up with me when I was flying at full speed in an F-111F. But the Sparrows are missiles that should be left in the hangar and not loaded onto the aircraft.
I had a funny incident recently, I was flying an F-15A and launched my Sparrov and it flew for so long that I shot down the plane with a cannon. You see, I reached the target faster than the Sparrov. :D
You do realize that the Mig23ML got it rada nerfed right ? Also no one use the R23 in 23ML , they use R24 and even then in that situation the only time where it gonna definitely take you down is you stick with the head on and doesn’t move , the R24 can easily be notched simply the 23ML lack the radar to back it up
not even half as good as non-russian, that’s the goddamn problem.
mig23ml has 2 shitty missles on a shitty radar that cant lock anything at ground level.
1 R23 are actually not good missiles, at all, an aim7E-2 will get more done than an R23R , the R24R is a good missile but the ML and MLD radar sets are pretty poor.
Massive, massive skill issue mate, you really need to learn to play better before just stating random af stuff.
The F111F as well, when its got a load is actually quite slow, the mig23 if hes at a good angle to you then boom your down.
That plane is not good at all.
Dude got shot down by an R23R mate flying in a straight line in a vark.
The missile is bad, pretty much an aim 7E equivalent, it just trade the better acceleration for pulling less, it still have the same issues with the autopilot as the regular E, where for the first 2.5s it doesnt turn at all and it has a much lower G limit of another 2.5s (just 8Gs for the r23)
Hornet is one of the most annoying planes to play against at this BR because of its mostly unique ability (for the BR) to fire sparrows at any aspect that isnt a notch. Meaning, they can often fire sparrows at you even when you are flying away from them in such a way that makes it difficult to avoid without forcing a merge or hugging the ground while flying away. The spam of the hornet combined with the previous fact means most of my gameplay near the hornet’s BR is multipathing to a degree I would not normally do even against fox3s.
It also doesn’t help the aim7P is IOG so unlike the other sparrows they can actually break lock and go defensive and re lock.
Even the f18A shouldn’t be sitting at 12.3
