not true. if you crank back and forth you can bleed the R27s speed and if he does nothing yours will hit first. also the R27T is easy to flare in front aspect.
That does not matter at all when you easily have the best flight performance at the br. the F5E dances on oponents, i usually do very well in it.
Mig-23M/MF are 11.3. they can absoulty face it. and its not like the MiG-23M/MF are good fighters either compared to the Mirage 2000C’s. they have better radar and IR missiles and better flight performance.
IRL means nothing for this game. Also when your getting spiked, its always the enemy now. Unless its a friendly radar gun sight. If you get spiked look in that direction. If you see smoke. start defending
I mean yea pretty much, MiG-21 BVR is a joke and its incredibly slow for its br, all mig-23ml players have single digit IQ’s and usually MiG-29 pilots expect their R27ER to carry them, so when they fire it, they usually dont defend well enough.
The Sparrow is an incredibly good missile and anyone that says otherwise is either lying, or is just bad at the game.
Who the hell plays sim anyways? I play war thunder for fun. If i cared that much id go play dcs or something. If im trying to play a more realistic game i play VTOL VR. Also i always take the F4E out for fun and do well. With the agail eagle slats your way more maneuverable. And the internal vulcan lowers your weight compared to the navy phantoms.
Tip, if you get a lock warning for a extended period of time it probably means they launched. You dont need launch warnings just look around, radar missiles are really easy to spot.
Cope. Good tip, dont get into a situation where you cant notch, use terain or even just dont get shot at in the first place.
I guess if you think you are so good and its not just a skill issue you should have no trouble grinding a vehicle you dont think is unplayable.
Maybe if you guys didn’t just happen to jump into this thread and instead have read the tags, you might have known that everything i wrote is for “Simulator”. Of course i also play realistic and think that F-4S is balanced.
But Air Simulator is a lot different than Realistic and Arcade. Radar and RWR matter A LOT. Theres no matchmaking, only designated BR ranges, such as 11.0-11.7 or 12.0-13.0. MiG-23s are the king of these recent changes because they are always at the top BR. They can’t face 4th gens.
Your vision is fixed to cockpit, limiting your awareness. Theres no markers for enemies, missiles or allies and the game doesn’t visually render players unless you are very close. Your radar is your eyes, having an advanced radar makes everything easier. And almost everyone doesn’t lock you until they get to the NEZ. You can NOT notch or crank if you are inside MAR, especially with a flying bus. AN/ALR-45(V) shows %99 of the signals it picks as question mark. So you can’t know if its an enemy, spaa or ally. And your radar is obsolete compared to what you face, easy to notch. And your sparrows doesn’t have IOG or DL so they explode as soon as your lock is gone or broken.
Do not try to teach me anything if you haven’t played AirSim. You are just making fool of yourself.
Man if you think the F-4S RWR is bad I can’t wait until you see the F1C-200 lmao.
It can carry 4 pretty good radar missiles and has agile eagle if you think F-4S vs R-27ER is Hydrogen bomb vs Caughing baby and it needs to go down to 11.3 I can’t wait until you see F-4S vs F-1. AKA Death Star vs Unborn Child ;)
Personally I only play simulators lately and there you are talking nonsense, the F-4(J or S) is probably one of the best planes at its Br, the mig-23s are really easy to face and the rare Mig-29s are either completely useless (recently I have the impression that the Mig-29 players have become very bad) or know how to play but the quantity of missiles of the F-4 is enough to keep them in check.
For me, if there is one plane that suffers from the latest updates and changes to the BR, it is the Mig-23, not the F-4.
It’s really not that hard, you just have to stay low and not get too close (it takes some practice for sure but it’s not impossible). The Mig-29 only has 2 radar missiles, once it’s fired it’s quickly vulnerable. Plus it only has 60 countermeasures, it quickly runs out.
You said that the Mig-23 was the best plane in the game in simulator with the latest Br changes, it’s just wrong. When it’s in the F-4S/J bracket it gets demolished and even at its own Br it can’t do anything, its radar is crap and its only decent missiles are the R-60M
Why are you flying an 12.0 jet in 12.3+ rotations? You CAN chose when to fly a certain BR, so you can easily avoid those rotations (exception is 12.3, which only gets matches with 12.7).
I’m not surprised that the F-4S is unplayable on that BR. 4 obsolete IR missiles and 4 AIM-7s that are easy to defeat by notching. I crush them almost all the time with the MiG-23MLD, which has significantly better flight characteristics and more effective missile armament (2x R-24T + 4x R-60M).
