Skyflash SuperTEMPs yes, but normal Skyflashes? I have a short video that shows off my Skyflash problems lol
holy skill issue
imo all the pd phantoms (f4s/j/junk and the uk ones) can go to 11.7 or stay at 12.0 with 9ls. theyre deffo not op
I’ve had problems with them not tracking on PDV quite right, but the Skyflash DFs (which I think have the Aim-7E-2 Seeker in game) usually will go for what ive aimed them at
I really would like to believe the missile knows where it is, but this Skyflash(DF) went for the exact opposite of what I was targeting lol
And I had a solid lock on the Mig-23.
I have never had Skyflash STs from an F3 do that.
Stock grind. I’m entirely bombing with them for the grind.
Yea this one was special.
I have no idea what was happening there and sensor view didn’t help either.
bombing with fighters for stock grind is stupid, you’re getting nowhere and not learning how to use the vehicle
okay, there are a few key problems with this argument, first off, RWR doesnt have to be accurate at this BR in RB battles to be useful, in planes with SPO-10 and ones like it with bad RWR, its more of a warning sign to say “hey your being locked, heres the general location, now use your camera to look at said target locking you”, then you should react accordingly to the radar threat,
the argument about deltas being bad purely based on their energy retention i feel is a tad bit flawed, the idea with all planes of its br is that you need to stay fast, and by tapping S while moving (or whatever your pitch down key is) you can conserve energy just like in the F-5’s, enabling deltas like the MiG-21 Bis to have moderatly decent energy retention, going high is death at these BR’s, thats just the fact, you need to stay withing 1000 meters of the ground or less incase you get locked.
Delta previously described i would say are some of the most well rounded and best planes for dogfighting, most planes fall under two catagories, 1 circle fighters, or 2 Circle fighters, Deltas typically end up on the 1 Circle fighter catagory, the idea is they want to rip the nose as hard as possible around to hit the target, they want to be able to manuver the nose as best as it can to get the shot on first, thats why they dont have the same retention as something like the F-5, A two circle fighter, it wants to drain the enemies energy out and slowly outrate them to get behind them, although this leaves it at a significant disadvantage during say, rolling scissors, since it has a much turnrate at lower speeds. but anyway less of the dogfight knowledge more of the problem at hand. the big takeaway from this wall of text here is that deltas arent useless in a dogfight, their just different and should be used as so.
Next up, the big issue of the F-4S, the phantom airframe is already quite sluggish in terms of manuverability, its a flying Missile bus with some nice radar and missiles, however both are instantly disabled as soon as the target goes below 40 meters, which is pretty easy to do as a defender, so half of the F-4S kit goes out the window before we even start the argument, these missiles are meant to be used on unsuspecting targets like you, who arent paying attention to their altitude and arent thinking about the scenario around them.
- “Finally, it is considerably tougher for 11.0s to deal with the F-4S, than is it for F-4S to deal with the 13.0s (as long it doesn’t stupidly get into a dogfight)”
so your telling me that an F-4S is having less of an issue fighting SU-27’s with the 27ER and F-16A’s with their amazing speed and flight model than a 21 bis is fighting the F-4S? i have two things to say to this, have you ever flown the F-4S?
the whole idea of the F-4 is that it doesnt want to exactly get into a dogfight, alot of things are more manuverable and it has a pretty huge loadout that it cant lug around easily, but the only way it can really get kills is by ENGAGING with the enemy, IE: dogfighting them, therefor you either need to jump them, or have the speed and manuverability to dogfight them, if your said mig-21 bis, then yes, he can outrun you, but the more he runs, the less kills he gets, early game thats detremental to their XP, meaning their more likely to fly away for a bit, either lead you into teammates or just recommit (either by you baiting him or his own stupidity), you can easily evade sparrows by just multipathing, i mean 90% of these RWR’s that are bad give you a launch warning and even if they dont, you should be keeping an eye on the target giving you a track warning anyway, even SPO-10 does that well because it tells you the direction the target is at that is tracking
Whilst Tiger is usually wrong. In this one single area I do agree. Chucking some bombs onto the airframe usually makes a stock grind way easier. If nothing else, you usually unlock bombs before full missile kits and allows you to use usually unusued hardpoints.
Typhoon for example sucked stock, especially without booster mod and I did a notable chunk with the 1000lb bombs in ASB. It was simply easier.
Likewise something like the Phantom FGR2 gets 2x Aim-9D stock and can get bombs as a T-1 mod but doesnt get its primary weapon, an SARH until T-3. I only wish that the Tornado F3s could have had some bombs, because they were a rough stock grind having to rely only on Aim-9Ls for kills. I also did most of the Sea Harrier FA2 grind before it got AMRAAM stock. 2x Aim-9Ls on a FA2 at 13.0 was rough. Being able to augment gains with a few 1000lb bombs was a life saver
Though Tiger has a tendency to value base bombing over everything else.
I do agree with what you’re saying and am ashamed to admit I am doing the same with the Su-33 but I must digress that only have two R27ERs in 13.0 facing Rafales really, really, really sucks and the only way I have been able to get any semblance of a grind through its modules till I get the R27ER upgrades was with base bombing. However I will be ditching those napalm bombs the moment I get the upgrades so I can begin using the Su-33 as it was intended. It just really isn’t fun fighting Fox-3 missiles with Fox-2s.
fair point, but tiger’s overall KD shows me that all he does is basebomb. Not exactly a good player if even statshark rates him “below average”
Oh yeah. Go look at his other threads.
I need to check those out
not as hard to be fair R60MK goes after any flare ever
oh absolutely.
but if i meet F-4S while flying Bis SAU in uptier, I know that as long as I merge, bozo is prolly dead.
yeah there skills buns but in a good players hands you wont make it to merge
The ones marked in red have no stock grind. You also have a negative kd in the most undertiered plane in the game. The ones not makred in red also have enough games to get spaded. Just admit you are bad at the game and stop making a forum post about every vehicle that kills you
Kfir Canard is Premium too
