The F-4E’s BR is correct for its capabilities.
AIM-7E-2s with a good radar for the BR, and AIM-9Js for rear-aspect.
The Mig-25PD gets equal IR missiles, an equally powerful radar, has a slower IAS top speed, turns worse, and its radar missiles are slightly better than F-4Es to make up for the majority of shortcomings.
I’m actually going to disagree on this, any player with the ability to use ACM scanning can easily make the F-4E a potent dogfighter. Use ACM, fire within 3km, and the enemy is usually toast. Even then if they aren’t, it seems to be a decent dogfighter. Most MiG-23 players can’t outturn the phantom E (at least when I use it, no clue why) and it’s not difficult to get the F-5s to bleed their energy and then extend away from them. So. It definitely can be in the right hands.
“why isnt my gigantic multirole fighter/bomber playing like a spitfire” aah complaint.
Sparrows are a brilliant missile. The phantom is a good airframe that offers a jack of all trades but master of none capability so it can work in most situations ok enough.
Youre not an interceptor like a lightning or fishbed or even a starfighter, you cant use that mentality.
I honestly think most phantoms ought to go up in BR to be closer to the spey phantoms and EJ kais as the differences are only slight with each better plane.
TLDR this is a skill issue that gets overcome by understanding the plane more and with practice
Theres a lot of russian planes that are undertiered (wow what a surprise, this has never been said before) and theres premiums of other nations also kept low to be cash cows but you should still do real good in them
Sure. I also understand flight controls, flaps, airbrakes, and extending.
Not saying I could beat the average skilled player. But on average, most WT players are, well, below average skill. Especially in Floggers. Especially with the premium flogger. Which has been almost exclusively what I faced.
Regardless, the F-4E is NOT under tiered. It’s a great plane. And anyone who knows what they are doing can beat just about any plane they face in it.
Not really.
F-4E in a specific speed range and under 10 min fuel can really rate insanely , until you meet a 12.3 (16A, event M2KC ) that can outdo you easily.
I won’t describe the whole proccess , i’ll tell only stay over 800km/h. And forget AoA , think with speed.
Most people you’ll meet in the game aren’t even understand the difference in when to rate, AoA , radius … They just turn instinctively anyway. It’s not the same in having a practical , even starter level - not too deep , knowledge in BFM/ACM.
Also since most people nowdays just buy a premium high tier plane without learning BFM/ACM in previous tiers (like the 23ML he said) it’s easier with some basic understanding to outdo them…because they don’t think like that. They’ll just try pull AoA on anything and/or throw missiles…
