I’ve been trying to grind out the usa tree with the F4e and in my opinion it kinda sucks right now. The missiles are terrible, the overall frame is slow at turn and doesn’t hold energy well, the radar is trash. I mean I want to like this plane there are upsides to it but at 11.3 there are none. For a great example at this just look at the mig 25’s at a similar br they get a better everything then F4E, they get all aspect missiles, they get look down on their radar, and it help that the missile has good performance alongside the tracking. I think it also really doesn’t help the F4j for a whole two jumps in br only gets the additional advantage of look down capabilities while losing the gun and having the exact same terrible missiles. And while admit speed is the main selling point of the F4’s I find myself all the time losing in speed to mig 21’s, I just don’t see why this should be 11.3 while everything else around it has a clear distinct advantage over that makes it in a match up completely unplayable.

The MiG-25 has NO gun and zero dogfight ability lol. Also F-4E carries more missiles.
The F-4E slaps and for this event on average I’ve been getting 2 kills a game. IMO it’s the best Phantom in the US tree if not in game (edit; I stand corrected, the Kurnass has 9Gs but is the same BR therefore is better) for its BR. It’s got a super good flight model, turns with almost everything, and whatever it doesn’t outturn it can simply outrun. Even the missiles are good thanks to CW Illumination, which is crazy given that it is not a PD radar.
All that said… Sure put the F-4E down to 11.0. It isn’t really seal clubbing if I’m the one with the club.

Well it’s a brick with wings, it’s not a fighter it’s an interceptor, its way different from the j as it’s a whole separate branch and has completely different missiles. Try using the aim7s at distance, as it’s not a dogfighter
The F-4E’s BR is correct for its capabilities.
AIM-7E-2s with a good radar for the BR, and AIM-9Js for rear-aspect.
The Mig-25PD gets equal IR missiles, an equally powerful radar, has a slower IAS top speed, turns worse, and its radar missiles are slightly better than F-4Es to make up for the majority of shortcomings.
Mig-21s are slower with worse armament.

I’m actually going to disagree on this, any player with the ability to use ACM scanning can easily make the F-4E a potent dogfighter. Use ACM, fire within 3km, and the enemy is usually toast. Even then if they aren’t, it seems to be a decent dogfighter. Most MiG-23 players can’t outturn the phantom E (at least when I use it, no clue why) and it’s not difficult to get the F-5s to bleed their energy and then extend away from them. So. It definitely can be in the right hands.
