Similar to most other 13.0 Planes who dont carry any ARH this aircraft in my opinion suffers from having to constantly be on the defence and with the addition of more and more 13.0 or 13.3 Aircraft who carry 4x ARH and atleast 2x IR the F-2A ADTW just falls behind. Even if the Dogfight performance ist beyond any Aircraft at its own rating or slightly higher its very Situational, the Aim-7Ms being a false hope when paired with its on paper great radar wich loses lock when the enemy decides to go anywhere from 30°-60° away from you and your Aim-7M decides its time has come to go to heaven. It has a solid ammount of countermeasures wich makes any cqc fight easy aswell. But just 0.3 BRs higher we have the Su-30s Airframes of 14.3 with missile loadouts of 13.7 HMD kinda whack radar but since you dont have to hold lock it doesnt matter and do to the ammount of the Flanker Spam its hard to find a match that is 12.0 or anywhere in the 12.3 area where its not a single F/A-18C early against 7 or 8 Su-30s. In the End the F-2A ADTW is fine the closer you get to your enemy and worse the further away and this makes the Aircraft in the current meta just hell to play
That’s not how the radar works and I’m sure if you insist to say it does work like this, that you wouldn’t be able to give video evidence or a replay showing it happening. You’re just getting notched. 90 degrees.
Here’s my problem with these types of complaint posts: You complain you suffer badly in uptiers and that jets above you compress your jet’s performance. That’s true, however you also say you wish you could be the exact same upwards compressive force to 12.0 jets. You are just as strong to a 12.0 jet as the Su-30 is to you. So you want to make somebody elses’ game not fun in exchange for yours being fun. You need to advocate for decompression so everybody can have fun
My hope is less to make the game bad for 12.0 players if it would be up to me we would have the option to toggle seeing ARH like bullet hell at a certain br since decompression seems of the table for the devs and then move aircraft up that are very strong once they can play aggresive. And once im gonna play the f2 later ill gladly show you my missgivings with its radar
Ok then why would anybody toggle it on when they can turn it off and get free murder downtiers to 12.0? Why would you ever play 11.7-12.7 ever again?
You can actually chaff even PD radars without notching if you change your heading significantly while chaffing

I don’t clip my games but you can try it out in a custom, the N001 is (or at least was prior to this update, I haven’t played it much after the update) quite prone to this happening
Thats why i ment to uptier the planes who have a Extreme performance once ARH is out of the picture
Im not saying its bad it just falls behind against what it fights in an uptier and is extremly good once downtiered since its a carbon copy of the 13.7 just without the AAM-4
Ok they would still not face ARH jets in your system, so why would you play any of the jets beneath them in the matchmaker since they’ll be the best SARH jets and be downtiered 100% of the time?
I bought the prem f2 when it came out with the hopes of maybe doing anti ship stuff, since they just added air to ship missiles.
I realized how outclassed it was at its BR, and they didnt bother adding any targets for the ASM’s, just formations of ships that are far too close together so your asm always just goes for the carrier which you cant really dent with 4 asm. So its useless and i never use it.
Id prefer it if they just gave it aim120c or aam4 then moved it up to 13.7 or so.
They only gave it Aim-7Ms to say it aint a toptier Premium i swear

Nah, there are plenty other aircraft id rather use at that BR that are much better. Sparrows are bad, its radar isnt anything special and other planes just have more at the same br.
Now that kfir C10 moved to 13.3, having the earliest AESA radar in game (IIRC) isnt anything special? lmao.
Tell me you havent played F-2’s without saying it outright.
I know what notch is and how it works, and I assure you that ever since the release of both F-2’s that has been happening to both of them specifically. Not to the other ESAs, but explicitly to the one F-2 has. It losing hardlock on targets turning about 50-70 deg. away from you is a thing that happens.
Obviously when your BVR is limited to sparrows, that does not help at all.
If I could choose for a plane to be boring and mediocre (direct C&P of TT variant) or good and with something unique (2nd best 13.0 or something like that) I’m choosing the latter any day
