F-22 Raptor

Twin pods maybe allow for quicker and more accurate passive ranging

To cover both side no ?

Yes it will be twice faster in front compared to the sides. But I just wish it can be used as Top

Yeah, at least F-22 is able to go very high so it’s not as big of a problem

Mach 1.82 supercruise

Just wait for them to not give it that and claim it’s a “clear marketing lie” like they did for the eurofighter lmao

using the f-117 as an example, most aesa/pesa planes can detect it without problems at 30km+ ranges, the su-30sm2 has the longest range radar in game and can detect the f-117 at 100km+

the performance of fox 3 seekers vs the f-117 is terrible on the other hand, they can only get locks at 5km in a headon, anything above that and they stay on iog + dl or only iog if you don’t have datalink, when on iog only you can easily get out of the fov of the seeker and not even have to notch it, notching will also be much easier in the occasion that the missile actually locks you.

i don’t know exactly how much stealthier the f-22 is compared to the f-117 but cutting down all these ranges in half isn’t an unrealistic scenario (i think)

depending on the estimate you can see F-22 from 30-55km away frontally with irbis-e, but that is in the focused power mode used to squeeze out the 400km against 3m^2 target

yes, which is significantly more than most other 5th gens

eg su57 with ~40 iirc

huge

now confirmed to supercruse faster than rafale top speed

also confirms top speed is at least 2.25 vs 2+ in some earlier sources

i wonder if itll get rafale speed treatment since most sources agree it wasnt thrust or airframe limited

I don’t know how many countermeasures the F-35 has, but the J-35 has roughly the same number as the Raptor(х3 dispencer), and I’ve already spoken about the J-20

The Su-57 will compensate for this with the presence of a DIRCM
There are also patents for new countermeasure modules that increase the number of its countermeasures

there is NG variants (more range basically)

specifically for Russian service Su-57?

do you have a source for this?

4 buckets most likely.

Doesn’t matter with the presence of dircm turret.

And if imaging IR missiles with home on jam modes are modeled those DIRCM turrets will be a detriment, not an advantage

The DIRCM missile forcefield for choppers is well known to be a gaijin fabrication to make them competitive against IRIS-T and AIM-9X. We have evidence that IIR missiles are essentially immune to DIRCM

any stealth features on the Su-57 are negated by its indiscriminate emissions in radar and laser

Also applies to all other L-O fighter designs if they are using their active sensors but yes the Su-57 having DIRCM will mean if it wants to be maximum stealth in a contested airspace it will have to disable the DIRCM turrets

the Su-57 has the whole 360 constantly emitting radar with multiple antennas, none of which aside from the main one are particularly capable and mostly just provide AN/ALR-94 and AN/ASQ-239 enough information for a ranging calculation

luckily it has IRST and F-22 doesn’t
