F-22 Raptor

specifically for Russian service Su-57?

do you have a source for this?

4 buckets most likely.

Doesn’t matter with the presence of dircm turret.

And if imaging IR missiles with home on jam modes are modeled those DIRCM turrets will be a detriment, not an advantage

The DIRCM missile forcefield for choppers is well known to be a gaijin fabrication to make them competitive against IRIS-T and AIM-9X. We have evidence that IIR missiles are essentially immune to DIRCM

any stealth features on the Su-57 are negated by its indiscriminate emissions in radar and laser

Also applies to all other L-O fighter designs if they are using their active sensors but yes the Su-57 having DIRCM will mean if it wants to be maximum stealth in a contested airspace it will have to disable the DIRCM turrets

the Su-57 has the whole 360 constantly emitting radar with multiple antennas, none of which aside from the main one are particularly capable and mostly just provide AN/ALR-94 and AN/ASQ-239 enough information for a ranging calculation

luckily it has IRST and F-22 doesn’t

Any chance the RAM coatings play any role in this speed difference? (If the F22 has any limitations in that regard that is)

That sounds fun xD

i mean 2.25 is within reason of mach 2+. and they wouldve considered RAM from the start

depends on if we get the pods.

Fair enough.

Still, insane to see how it can supercruise its way to match the top afterburning speed of some fighters.

it is a pretty crazy jet. only really matched by WS-15 J-20 in that regard

Well from what I know there aren’t too many concrete numbers on the WS15 yet, really that is the usual issue with china not disclosing any numbers.

Might be early to say they compare to the F22 PW.

CCTV said mach 1.8 max supercruise for the J-20, and i just dont see that happening with the WS-10 and definitely not with the AL-31

yes, but the intakes pulls it back much more than RAM beyond mach 2, it is a fixed intake not a variable ramp inlet.

They look very small for CM dispensers

j-20 gets 108 large calibre cms, which aint bad

Did they figure out the number from close up pictures?
